Parts of the book are excellent, parts of it baffled me. The author relies, as do most of the writers on the subject, on witness statements. Unfortunately, people have all kinds of reasons for embellishing the truth and being accurate is not often among them. It's unfortunate that most authors on the subject conflate UFOs/UAP with being alien craft but the evidence just isn't there, and the science is against us being visited by creatures from other solar systems. At times Coulthart seems to favour this explanation rather than the possibility that unidentified means just that. The author also explains that some people high up in the American military stated unequivocally that no country they know of is capable of building the craft which are allegedly observed. He ignores that the Stealth Bomber was kept secret for 10 years. An up to date look at the subject of OFOs/UAP which is worth reading. Ross Coulthart I have been reading books and looking at videos on the UFO topic since the 1980s (I am quite old). As this is a recent publication and Mr Coulthart is a journalist, I was expecting some new information about recent developments. Not a bit of it. All old stuff. It might be OK for someone new to the topic who needs to know about the history from the 1940s, but really, this has been described (and mostly better described) SOOO many times before in other books (Timothy Good, Nick Redfern, Preston Dennett, etc, etc) Actually I have already recycled the book to a second hand book seller. Ross Coulthart I purchased this for kindle. Once I'd read it, I knew it was a second purchase of this as a paperback for my library. This is a book that is riding the current crest/wave of the inevitable disclosure arising from the US Navy's tic tac video releases and the Pentagon's admission that there is a something out there that is defying the laws of our known physics and is invading the world's airspace/sea with impunity. Now, is it our tech that black budgets can no longer lie to governments about? Or is it something that has always been here and considers us unimportant to currently interact fully with? Interesting times are coming Ross Coulthart I can confirm that this book is 100% readable. Here I am reading the book as proof.I have read this book from cover to cover, the book is over a year old now (approx.), and remains 100% readable.Additionally, the book is fully compatible with standard shelving and both sides of the book integrate seamlessly with the sides of other books alongside it, I have only tried two but sense that forward and reverse compatibility with any book is likely, I will leave a further review if this turns out not to be the case. Ross Coulthart Skilfully written investigative analysis of the historical events that have contributed as evidence to the confirmation of the reality of the UFO/UAP phenomena.Ross in his book catalogues the known historical events, though also adds additional information from his investigations that i had not been previously aware of, bringing further light to these incredible events and involved personnel.Ross also brings new information from Australian military cases, which have enlightened and bolstered the evidence for a global UFO/UAP phenomena and cover up.From this book i took away a revelation which i would also like to see further corroborating information on, specifically regarding the use of MASINT to uniquely detect these objects entering & exiting our atmosphere and oceans. In my opinion, by answering the question of “are we alone on planet earth”, we then open the doors to the possibility of engaging with and answering the other existential questions “is there life after death”, “is there a God”.‘In Plain Sight’ is another cornerstone of literature and media on UFO/UAP’s that intellectually engages the mind and our curiosity of the possibility that our reality is stranger than fiction. While the book still leaves us with questions than answers, it does, again, point to a few elitist, military industrialists and privileged folk keeping this knowledge under wraps, thereby holding back the human race, and our children from technological, scientific, spiritual (consciousness) and philosophical advancements.
