After having read and enjoyed Annie Hawes first two books Extra Virgin and Ripe for the Picking , I must say I was disappointed in A Handful of Honey. It was loaded with endless historical facts and did not seem to provide the same humourous A Handful of Honey Having enjoyed Annie's other two books I wasn't disappointed with this one. She is so funny but also serious and thought provoking at the same time. I loved the little history vignettes and the great food descriptions. I had to put it down to make a chicken tagine for A Handful of Honey
