The story starts with Rajiv Arora, who is a 35-Year-Old Artist. his last piece was sold with huge recognization and amount. But for 2 years the artist was not seen. He was detached from his family and friends. He was struggling to paint, he was frustrated, something was wrong with him and he knew about it. He was lost in misery and for what? no one knew. He went to places to find his next art but he failed miserably. He rented a farmhouse and kept himself in dark to concentrate better.
One day a lady name Stanzin comes to visit him, and she is none other than his teacher who brought the artist within him. What was she going to do and why did Rajiv lose his artist form?
Their journey is the whole story of this book, you will find places where you will question yourself and ask where do you lack in your passion. You will start finding the reason. Why we have teachers, it's defined in this short read, we are incomplete without them who teaches us what we are worth for. Great read.

The cover of the book could have been better. The title is totally apt. The plot of the story is interesting and inspirational. In this short book, the author has highlighted the different values and powers of life. The emotions of an artist and beauty of Assam is depicted well. Language used is simple. The flow of the book is well paced. At some places the story looses it's grip,there is somewhere emptiness.
Overall, a one time short read.

Rajiv Arora is an extraordinary painter . The story revolves around rajiv's painter block issue because of which he is isn't able yo paint anymore.
But as we say a true artist never loses his creativity. It is beautiful story where a teacher helps his student to overcome his sorrow and uplifts him to see a brighter future.
It is a. Quick read and the narration is kept simple. I was impressed by how in just 26 pages author gives us a full view of life and different emotions human experience in different stages of life.

The book talked about an artist who didn't realize that he was feeling incomplete because of one of his incomplete art where he left his soul. Every artist portrays his soul through his artwork. So how could Rajiv be able to come up with a new art to come up with a new art when his soul wasn't with him?
I loved how the author described the character. The language was simple yet impactful. I could feel like I was watching a short film or video beacuse the author has perfectly described each and everything so when I read it felt like it's was happening right infront of my eyes.
Loved the way Majuli was described that I instantly put it on my go to places list ( obviously after the situation gets better).
I felt that the end of the book was incomplete and didn't feel satisfied with it. Hope it had a different end.

'Sofia on the Balcony' is the second flash read book of Himanshu Goel, which I read. The protagonist of the story is a man named Rajiv Arora, who is an extraordinary painter. His mindblowing, unique paintings made him a renowned painter in world. After his renowned work 'Soul on the mountain' he faces a havoc in creating any artwork. One fine day, he is asked to be again under the mentorship of his teacher, like the way he used to be when he was just a budding artist. The story is about how the protagonist resolves the issue that he faced with the support of his teacher.
Though it's a short story, it conveys a lot of messages. The role of mentors or teachers in our life is beautifully portrayed. Though we grow up and acquire more knowledge than our teachers, they never cease to amaze
us when we face a hurdle in our personal or professional life. We again turns to be a child and eagerly learn from them during such situations.
There are some problems in our life which we don't count actually when it hurdles our success. But having someone with us who help us figure out that issue and keep us focused in our passion field is a blessing.
This book is a very less time consuming read. Beginner friendly language is used and great message conveyed.
I recommend this feel-good book to people who enjoy reading short books.

The writing skill of the author is brilliant. The narration was simple and it didn't drag too much.
I liked the way he described the characters and the place Majuli. The language used is simple and lucid.
