Let Me Love You (Love Permit #1) By Gianni Holmes

Leave it to this super talented author to take the same old same old stereotypical storylines and give them a fresh, grab-you-by-the-feels, poignant, sexy, fantastic, charming, hilarious, amazing, endearing, and totally awesome new twist. I absolutely loved this marvelous start to an intriguing new series, and I can't wait to see what happens next. 298 Stopped at 20%. I just couldn't get into it. Didn't care for the heroes very much. It's obviously me by the raving reviews it's got. I might try again another time. 298 Let Me Love You is the first book in A Love Permit serie by Gianni Holmes. The story is about Bryan and Tate. I really liked their story. It was hot, sexy, sweet and very well written.

This book was previously published as Falling for Mr. Corporate and My Dear Mr. Corporate. 298 Okay first up I’ll say I loved the first editions when they where separated in the Corporate Series, but combining them so that we get both of their POVs included into one book was even better. I loved both characters in this and felt their story.
This included hot sexy scenes, age gap, a really bad Ex, abuse and a few secrets plus more. This book wasn’t one I could put down cause they’d be things keeping my attention to see what happens next in a fast pace. Dramas with Keith (the Ex) added to the book for a great finish.
Bryan’s 22 years makes the worst mistake by going camping with his boyfriend and running wasn’t the wisest move. But he meets Tate who was 10 years older. But there was trouble ahead and not far.. 298 4.5

I loved the drama of the best friend, the scheming uncle and the mystery woman. It was realistic that Tate and Bryan had their issues and arguments but tried not to let it dome between them.
I don't know that there is any redeeming features in Keith so I'm not sure I will read the sequel 298

What happens when a guy who constantly needs rescuing meets his Prince-not-so-Charming?

After bailing on his corporate kingdom due to a very public scandal, the last thing Tate expects is to bump into temptation in the woods. A five feet four, one-hundred-and-twenty-pound guy who reeks of a damsel in distress. In other words, Tate’s kryptonite.

When a sprained ankle leaves him trapped in the woods, Bryan has no option but to accept help from the only man within miles around. But there’s just so much to do in a cabin before boredom kicks in. With only one bed, one brooding inexperienced hunk, and a few days for his injury to heal, it's only a matter of time before things heat up.

Just when Tate starts opening up to Bryan, an unexpected turn of events throws Bryan in the face of danger. To rescue him this time, Tate must leave his fortress in the woods to return to society. Will their brief encounter be enough for them to survive what lurks in the city?

Full of playful banter, lingerie, heels, a slight age gap, devious friends, stubborn exes, mystery, and intrigue, this book will give you a thrilling and swoony experience.

Please note, this approximately 100k word book was previously published as Falling for Mr. Corporate and My Dear Mr. Corporate. Over 20k words have been added to the story for a dual POV of the section which was formerly Falling for Mr. Corporate. Also newly edited. Let Me Love You (Love Permit #1)

Ms Holmes wrote a delightfully steamy low angst forced proximity/corporate romance. Slight age gap and a bit of suspense made this an entertaining read for me. Despite both MCs developing feelings fairly quickly they were given chance to get to know each other beyond their bedroom fun.

There were some moments where miscommunication was used as a way to enhance the plot but they were quickly followed by the good parts of Tate and Bryan falling in love. The suspense angle was slight and expected, but I enjoyed the little bit of angst it did bring - it livened up the story for me. As always the author wrote two men with wonderful chemistry and no shortage of hot encounters. I admired Tate and really felt his pain. Bryan was easy to like especially when he asserted himself among all the trappings of Tate's old life. I really liked secondary characters namely Jeremy and aunt Susan who were such positive light hearted presence in the story. Oh, Gio and Keith, behold the nasty villains! I love a villain that I can hate to my hearts content. Overall this was a quick entertaining read. Copy received for my honest and unbiased review 298 Tate ran away from the city. He ran away from everything. After being consumed with guilt, he could not take it anymore. So he moved to a cabin in the woods to be by himself. Bryan is not meant for the woods. He enjoys the city life, the clubs, socialization, 24-hour take-out, immediate convenience. On a hiking trip, Bryan finds himself lost and Tate finds himself the rescuer of his biggest temptation.

Trapped in a cabin together, Tate finds himself drawn to Bryan and wanting the man’s presence and energy that he brings into life. But is he ready to forgive himself and come out of hiding to be with Bryan? Not to mention, did he leave his business in the right hands? Suddenly Tate finds his life in isolation imploding…

Gianni Holmes brings us her newest contemporary novel filled with a cabin weekend, return to civilization, kidnapping, and a possible money laundering scheme that could destroy everything. This is a roller coaster of a ride and everything you expect from a Holmes novel. This is book one in her new series, Love Permit and if sneak peaks at book two tell me anything, this new series will be absolutely fabulous.
298 i really liked part one, but i struggled with part two. mainly because of Tate. he was like two completely different people and i struggled to reconcile the two versions of him. they felt low-key toxic in part two bcos Bryan wanted his independence and not have everything handed to him by Tate (which i totally agreed with and respected), but Tate didn’t seem to understand that. he transformed from this grouchy, mountain man with a soft heart to this lethal corporate CEO.

and while Bryan wanted to take a step back so they could see how their relationship worked in the city setting, in their real lives (which again, i totally agreed with and thought it was necessary), it felt like Tate was just obsessed with sex and not about the progression of their relationship. which again, didn’t align with the part one version of him. he wanted Bryan to give himself fully but also refused to be open and honest with Bryan, and be okay with Bryan’s need for independence. i just didn’t vibe with the power dynamic between them. Tate held all the power and refused to understand Bryan’s fears of relying financially on him. especially when Tate had seen with his own eyes the way Keith, Bryan’s ex, did the exact same thing by making Bryan be completely dependent on him. so then the sex scenes made me feel... icky bcos i wasn’t comfortable with the power dynamic, so i skimmed them after the 65% mark.

just the way they switched places in my eyes was so jarring— i didn’t rly care for Bryan in part one, but adored Tate. then i started to loathe Tate and really sympathise with Bryan.

and i rly despise Keith and Gio. but i low-key am intrigued about their book and to see if it can redeem them. but they weren’t just morally grey characters in this book, they were fucking horrible lmao. so idk how this next book is gonna go.

so part one id give 4 stars and part two id probably give 2. 298 DNF at 13%

Am I the only one who has trouble respecting characters that get turned on when they're in the middle of a dire situation (and they just met the guy)? 298 DNF @42%

This book was way too long and yet nothing was happening. Can’t root for either Tate or Bryan, and can’t imagine going through with the series to read more of Keith.

Really disappointed with this one. I’d been having a good streak with books and had great expectations for this😕 298
