Legacy of the Living is Book Two of the new Blood, Brains, and Bullets series by Sean Liebling.

In Book One, Jay pulled the town of Newaygo together, helped a National Guard unit, executed a rogue preacher bent on pulling the newly-formed community apart, and was named interim governor for the State of Michigan. Along the way he accumulated three girlfriends while making sure his young children survived.

Book Two continues on, beginning with the aftermath of a devastating zombie attack. As the town mourns the loss of many of their near and dear ones, Jay and his military personnel are faced with the chilling discovery that the zombies have evolved—have become even more clever and cunning. And they seem to be focusing their attacks on the children of the survivors!

Jay knows that in order to survive the influx of the multitudes of undead hordes, as well as the anticipated attacks by the Shadow Government, he must be ready. He does not intend to lose any more of his people. Under his direction, Newaygo’s ever-expanding group of survivors dig in and begin rebuilding. Their numbers have increased to the point that nearby Fremont is cleared and designated a new home for incoming survivors. Master Sergeant Darin Trask begins intense weapons training of Jay’s people, including Jay’s girls.

Jay doesn’t plan on merely surviving–he will take this battle to them! His intentions become a reality when he is joined by Major Robinson and elements of the 9th Special Forces Group and those of the 162nd SOAR.
The Shadow Government continues with their machinations in support of their New World Order Eugenics plan. Dr. Lynch, under the direction of a handful of world leaders, will sacrifice anything and everyone in his way in order to achieve their goal. Realizing that something is very wrong at the CDC, Dr. Samuel Thomas escapes with vital information. Can he make it through the devastated, war-torn countryside and find someone who can use this knowledge—to save the United States of America—and the world?
Meanwhile, the Reaper and his new apprentice, Travis, embark on a mission to reduce the ranks of the dead. They are assisted in their efforts by a lesbian biker gang, led by Chief Biker Alethea. this book series just gets better and better 9781301930906 Enjoyed. Good follow up to book 1. Characters get more defined and interesting. 9781301930906 This is the follow on to the excellent book one, Blood, Brains and Bullets and continues right from where book one finished and in doing so you don’t waste a lot of time trying to remember the various characters and what occurred previously.

This is the book where Jay shows the Shadow Government his teeth, and boy are they big teeth during an attempted air strike on Newaygo. Even though Jay is the main character in this series, he takes a bit of a back seat in this one as we are introduced to several communities of fellow survivors and follow their daily struggles against the undead, not that Jay is completely left out, as he does have to look after his ladies and his own needs.

The Reaper has a bigger part in this book as he’s doing the rounds of the various survivor groups along with his new apprentice, Travis, and he’s also trying to come to terms with his new found hero status, the kids are even playing with Reaper dolls, much to Jay’s annoyance.

The book culminates with a zombie battle of epic proportions, and if you thought the horde attack at the end of book one was big, you’ve not read nothing yet, including some unexpected support from the military. Given that Jay already wants to wipe out the Shadow Government, their actions in this book will guarantee that he will come looking for them with the sole intention of wiping them from the face of the planet thus leading to an eagerly anticipated book 3. 9781301930906 Just finished BBB #1 and Legacy of the Living Dead and have to say....LOL and Woooohhh...

I'm a avid reader started a few months back to read this new genre. Just my two cents : it was a very intelligent, well-crafted, intense, smokin’ hot, edge-of-your seat action story.You obtained your rights to be on the same shelves as my favourite authors, like Molles, O'Brien, Maburry, those two guys of Arisen and of course Rhiannon Frater.
I picked your books because of the coverts, it just make me laugh...I said to myself yeah, another young prepubescent chauvinist (same word in french right ?) obsessed author LOL but you morphs from creative,to lush, to gut wrenching all at the same time. Its a fantastic trip. You write like you're in charge of the story and knows what you're talking about (military being your former career, i take yourword for it! )
The plot was so full of surprises.. Although that is the purpose of this genre, i found myself questioning how this mess was going to play out (including the romantic/menage side of it) which is not necessarily bad, because you gave time for yours characters to muddle around and face their demons in their own time.
