tawny brows 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Forbidden Magic I cannot remember this book. That says it all, doesn't it? Forbidden Magic I'm not guilty dropping a book that's so hard to read and talks about rape like it's something that won't leave the assaulted with more than nightmares. And what I hate the most is that all characters are telling the story. We get everyone's thoughts and feelings, which can be tiring when you only want to focus on the main (two) characters.
So this is an old book but it was out of this world thoughts that came forth because REPEATED RAPE AND PEOPLE NOT OPENING THEIR MOUTH TO QUESTION THE WHOLE FUCKING THING!
Do you know what I hate the most? That Amery's best friend did send Jewel to a room he paid for to be raped AND SHE THINKS HE IS NICE. He doesn't even say anything when Amery forces Jewel to share a room with him, knowing that his friend will not want to miss the opportunity to get his dick wet!! What matters the most is that Amery likes Jewel's pussy enough to let her stay by his side, even though he doesn't care a fuck about what she wants or even IF she wants to do things his way, right you nasty disgusting piece of shit (talking about the best friend here)?
How is Amery better than his half brother.????? His half brother wants to marry her BECAUSE HE LOVES HER and even if he killed her whole family it was because he had no choice in the matter. His mother is controlling everything from start to end and if he wants to survive he had to listen to her. BUT AMERY HAD NO REASON TO RAPE OTHER THAN THINKING THAT ALL WOMEN SHALL BE TREATED LIKE CHEAP PUSSY BECAUSE HE WAS NOT TREATED RIGHT BY ONE WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER.

Though the writing was good, and kept me mostly engaged, I couldn't get past Amery raping Jewel. Not just once, but multiple times. The characters, too, were mostly shallow and cliche. Amery was an egotistical, misogynistic, idiot of a man with really no redeeming qualities. And Jewel, bless her heart, was a simpering fool who cried constantly and had not a shred of common sense. The plot was pretty ridiculous, even for a romance novel. And the culmination was too fast and pat.
I don't think I've read anything else by this author, but I'd certainly give her another chance considering I enjoyed the prose and overall style of her writing, especially with the use of old English in the dialogue. Forbidden Magic
