[Ménage Amour ManLove: Erotic Alternative Paranormal Ménage a Trois Romance, M/M/M, vampires, werewolves, public exhibition, sex toys, HEA]
When the beauty Elan wants leaps into his arms, declaring they’re mates, he’s ready to thank fate and claim his gift… But nothing’s ever that easy, and soon Elan is ready for a well-deserved break down.
Kermy’s struck by how sexy, powerful, and wonderful his very old mate is. If he was anywhere in Elan’s league that would be great. A virgin who can’t seem to get out of the tailspin meeting his mate and issues popping up everywhere threw him into, he’s scared his mate will never love him.
If that wasn’t enough, Elan meets their mate Talcott… And almost kills him, which isn’t something one normally forgives. Then again, with the curse Talcott was born with he’s used to people’s volatile reactions to what he can do.
But when Talcott’s gift warns the fae of disaster, will that bring the three together as they try to change what is in the cards, or will it divide them permanently?
Note: This book is written in first-person point of view.
Elan (Beyond the Marius Brothers #8)
3.5 English Things I didn't like, which were many and most of this was even before I was half way through:
1. Too much recap. The beginning was basically a cut & paste of the previous book, only from Elan's POV. But the dialog, many of it was the exact same. It was about a whole chapter of re-cap, which for me was not needed.
2. Where the hell was the romance/connection between mates? There was too much focus on the fighting drama with the fae, vampires and others. The going in and out of portals, the Queen being depressed, the demons, Elan becoming the Queen's second in command, Baylor's discovery, etc. There was little to no time between Elan and Kermy or Elan/Kermy/Talcott (it wasn't until chapter 9 that there was a menage, nearly the end). It was sort of an afterthought, really. More than half way through the book and Elan and Kermy hardly even spent any time together. And a lot of things seemed to happen off-screen. Elan spent more time with his fellow warriors and others then his own mates. Talcott was passed out in the beginning and then talking with others, like the vampire Marian. The main focus was honestly the Queen and dealing with that drama. That's fine, I get the story line needs to progress, but people read these for the relationships between the mates and it was sorely lacking here! And yet they somehow fallen in love with each other, which can only be because of the mating bond, because I swear, they only spent about 2 hours total in each other's presence before the declaration. And then there was yet another...
3. (the) public sex scene -- 2 in this one actually-- (not counting the typical mine! followed by biting and cumming, usually in front of others) with Elan and Kermy (their third time together). I'm getting sick of them (public exhibitions). So someone hit on Kermy (the fae didn't know he was mated), who cares? But nooooooooo, they have to get naked and have sex in front of everyone (in the kitchen, I believe) to prove their claim. Ugh. And then said fae (?) who was hitting on Kermy was all, I'm so horny and shit. I guess it's a good way to make someone jealous? They're all starting to blend together to me. Same old shit. Why can't they make-out or something, if they have to show everyone they're mates? And it's sort of weird, because they freak out when someone sees their mate(s) naked, but they'll have full on sex/oral in front of everyone? In the second one, the menage one, others were masturbating to it (Tanzi, etc)...hmmm. I don't really like it when others are giving input and wacking off as well, but that's just me.
4. Kermy's weird sleep-sex was just...weird. He was talking like he was awake, but he thought it was a dream and Elan still had sex with him. Not sure if that would count as dub-con or not. That was their second time together, the first being the claiming during the meeting. Because Kermy was sleeping, there was a disconnect to me and hence why I felt that there was little to no romance/connection between the two.
That being said, I noticed some new fae names that I'm sure may come up with future books -- Tanzi, Pazel, Lovis, etc
I can only hope those books are better than this one. :0/
English Happening at the same time as Clove's mating. This one we stick with one mate for about half of the book before introduced to the other one. Talcott was an interesting character..
Again, I didn't feel a full connection between the three. Not much sex in this one but still included the public sex scenes.. wish that had NEVER been introduced seeing as we seem to get it all the time..time to back off the wolf shifters please.
On the other hand, this was put together better than Clove's book for me. There was no prejudice between mates in this one, besides a minor incident on bespelled fae blood on first meet with Talcott. Once he's detoxed he and Kermy come to an understanding and work together to make the mating and all parties work.
I would say the biggest complaint I had with this one was the unnecessary public sex scenes that take place English I swear every time I read Elan's mates name, Kermy it made me think of this...

This was about as good as all the other books. Nothing that blows me away but crack attack inducing none the less.... English This was a very creative and enthralling read that centers around three mates, Elan, Kermy, and Talcott. Together they deal with many issues including the curse that Talcott was gifted with at birth. There were a few surprises in the story along with a plot that was quite unique and kept me drawn in. The characters were fascinating, especially Talcott, and I found them to be very engaging. The story was hot and overall, exceptional. I totally enjoyed it. =) English
Yeah, I really couldn't get over the name.
Kermy, Elan, Talcott. While I liked this one, I didn't really feel anything for them. Was there chemistry? I didn't think so. The public claiming is beginning to be too much.
Wanted to know more about Talcott. How did learn to control his gift? How were the sessions he was doing? It seemed like a day later and he was in a room with a ton of people. Could he really control it after that amount of time?
Yeah, still don't like Kinkade :( English Последняя книга в серии Мир Мариус. Слава Богу. English Too much and not enough.
And it's not an ending for main story of the Marius world books. English Let me start by saying that I have already read the majority of the books in this series and was following it for a long time. I lost track of it and realized recently that I had about 4 new books in the Marius World Series to read. But it has been a long time since I read some of them, and I couldn't really remember much of the overarching plot. I also hadn't read much of the Beyond the Marius Brothers stories and never even added the ones I read onto Goodreads.
I decided to take up the challenge of re-reading all the books (21 so far) in this series chronologically and writing a few thoughts on each. So I will set new dates to the read date section as I go along.
Finally a Book I havent read before!!!!!!
I liked the book. But nothing like last O'Hagan story.
I have to say though, overall I had a ton of fun re-reading and reading the books in the Marius world series. It'll be great to get back to more substance and romance driven books, but I'll miss all the magic and paranormal elements in these books.
Current Rating: 3 stars English I liked the continuation of the overall plot and the intimate look into the Queen's life. I think what other reviewers neglect to consider in rating these books is that they are part of an overall series and are more like one chapter of the story as opposed to a stand-alone-novel. The story isn't just about the main romance or the sex... those are the bonuses. You really have to read the entire series in order to really appreciate its true worth. I especially liked the return of Riley's grandmother and the mating of the Councilman. I was starting to wonder where all the women were, lol. English
