Cosmo's Fifty-One Shades of Blonde By Jessica Knoll

Uh...

I don't even know how to formulate a correct response to this.

Was this supposed to be mocking Fifty Shades? Because it did seem to, in some parts, but not in an overly slapstick way like I think Fifty Shames of Earl Grey did.

I'll just say it this way. The Adobe Reader edition had 30 pages. Of those 30 pages, about 15-20 were sex scenes. There was a very interesting one in the shower...

Also, there's a businessman tied in with the mob. Which is a combination I've always loved, but not in a compressed story format like this. It just doesn't do it enough justice.

After reading this, I can only express feelings of intense confusion as to what this story was trying to achieve. But it's Cosmo, so I don't think I'll bother figuring it out.

1453281738 This serialized story from Cosmopolitan is hot. Right off the bat Jessica Knoll didn't mince words and scenes and had her couple defiling office desks. Christopher Reiss, CEO of J.S. Taylor, is very reminiscent of Christian Grey and Gideon Cross. Domineering, straightforward and shameless when it comes to sex, this sexy businessman is caught in mob business that sets a conflict of interest with his lover and ex-assistant Megan Altman. An aspiring journalist whose job assignment is to expose Christopher's link to the mob and other criminal activities done by mob boss, Martin Gradiano, under the legit business banner of J.S. Taylor.

Personally I am growing weary of these stories that are obviously inspired by Fifty Shades, surely there are other types of Alpha males people can write about right? In any case, this is more of a sampler, the writing is steadfast and JKnoll can write explosive love scenes. At five chapters I was left wanting as far as this mob business is concerned as the story is not yet complete. I want to know if Christopher and Megan can get away with their planned expose and what lengths Gradiano will go through to silence them. I'd hope that JKnoll develops this mystery-crime angle with the same earnestness she exhibits in writing Megan and Christophers toe-curling scenes. 1453281738 Cosmo's Fifty-One Shades of Blonde is a very short story coming in at around 30 pages and spilt into five chapters, I believe part of the story was originally published in the magazine and has now been released as an ebook with additional added material. Obviously the title of the story gives away the fact that this is going to have similarities to the incredibly popular Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy and I couldn't resist giving it a try. I was hoping for a short but hot read with a sexy alpha male and to some extent that is what I got but unfortunately I found myself feeling disappointed. The story is short and hot but I didn't find myself attracted to Christopher and I couldn't understand what he and Megan saw in each other.

I love a good smut scene and I have to admit that the sex in this story was quite well written but I like a bit of a plot to go along with my erotica. In this case the characters were completely one dimensional, they hardly say more than two words to each other before they're at it like rabbits, in fact from the little they do say it's quite obvious they neither trust or particularly like each other. The plot (if you can even call it that) of the young office assistant with dreams of being a journalist just happening upon her super rich boss as he has a secret meeting with a high profile mob member (in a public restaurant of all places - because that's where all famous people arrange their top secret meetings that could end their career if they are discovered!) was just beyond ridiculous.

Cosmo's Fifty-One Shades of Blonde is obviously taking the mickey out of the series it is using to attract it's readers and unfortunately I'd have to say my advice would be to spend your money elsewhere. If you are looking for a quick read that has roughly 25 pages of sex in a 30 page story then this will probably hit the spot but if you want likeable characters and a story to go along with the smut then there are plenty of better options out there.

I'm going to end this review by giving the story an award for worst first line I've ever come across in an erotic novel:
If you owned a vagina, you couldn't help but notice this man as he walked into the restaurant. 1453281738 Fifty-One Shades of Blonde is a fast and direct sexy as sin read. Megan is the lowly assistant with dreams of being a journalist. Christopher Reiss the high powered CEO Megan just happened to catch at dinner with a known mobster.

Right of the bat Megan and Christopher are attracted to each other in a flaming passionate way. But Megan is stuck at in impasse. Does she go public with the story she has on Christopher? Or does she let go for the sake of an orgasm?

Fifty-One Shades of Blonde is yet another product of the Fifty Shades of Grey phenomenon. With a domineering man who comes complete with an insatiable sexual appetite, Jessica Knoll does not mince around with her words or intent. Of the thirty pages of this short story, about twenty are sex scenes. And whilst the sex scenes are very well written, with the author really going for it, the story as a whole just felt lacking. It seemed one massively long sex scene with a story line thrown in at the last minute for good measure. We are left with a less-than-satisfactory ending, with too many questions still raised and no hint of a sequel.

If you are looking for a fast and sexy read with not much story, then this is the book for you. 1453281738 *******THIS IS A MATURE REVIEW, 18 YEARS OR OLDER DUE TO CONTENT*******

OMG there is something about a controlling man that turns ladies on me included. They are strong and frank. Who the hell wants to play games when at the end of the day you want yours and I want mines. This story was not long enough for me and I hope there is more. I thought something was wrong with my kindle and I kept shaking it saying what the hell????? Is that the ending no way!

Jessica has created a world where few woman live but would like to. Stop lying to yourselves ladies of you say you would never be spontaneous with a man that was gorgeous! Megan is an assistant at a huge Financial Firm when she meets the new CEO Christopher Reiss. Christopher is hot sex in a suit and lord have mercy has he been around the office block and back. So when she sees him on her off day meeting someone at a restaurant she wonders why he is there and especially there with that person.

Christopher Reiss is a man who does what he wants when he wants and gets what he wants. He set his eyes on Megan and before long they are having hot office and home sexual encounters. Megan likes it rough and Christopher gives it to her with his huge girth. Man I needed a glass of cold water after reading this scorcher. Christopher is every womens dream guy who does as he is asked in the bed and his huge Cock pleases Megan.

But as every story has a crazy plot so does this one. Christopher is the CEO of a financial firm brought in after the previous CEO disappeared. Only Christopher really knows what has happened to him and the saying when you lie with dogs you will get fleas applies here. So when Megan stumbles upon his secret and secret world Christopher will have to protect her from some very bad people that want to kill her.

This is such a great story and I really need more of Christopher and Megan and when I went looking for information I could not find it but as soon as I do I will be posting it on my blog Kaidans Seduction. 1453281738

Pretty meh imo. I like Cosmo the magazine a LOT, but this? Yeah, not so much. Oh well! Nothing ventured, nothing gained & all that. ;)) 1453281738 Can I give no stars?

I get the desire to be compared and mentioned along with that one lame series... I do, people want the money and fame... Well... I want good writing and a story I can enjoy. This was not it. I flounced at 46%

How it compares to FSoG... Well the writing was just as atrocious... The story was just as ridiculous and the sex was just as not sexy.

Just an FYI when a writer uses terms like vagina, clitoris and penis... I feel like I'm in a doctors office. No thank you.

Don't waste your time people.

1453281738 Hold on dearies because I’m about to do some ripping ‘n shredding. This morning while enjoying a few RARE moments of silence in my house I decided to pick up Cosmo’s 51 Shades of Blonde installment because I had been putting off reading it. It’s no secret that the Fifty Shades of Grey series is HUGE right now, but if I have to read one more cheap knock off, I might scream, a lot.
Cosmo apparently knows how to hop on a bandwagon when they see one. Good thing they know a thing or too about fashion, hair, make-up and whatever else because they surely do not know what good smut is. Furthermore, it’s annoying to read in the novella that while capitializing on the Fifty Shades name, the make a point to bash it too… hypocritical much? I think so! Seriously, you either love or hate Fifty Shades, but if you are going to try and make money off it, at least not bash it IN the piece of work that copies it. *Head meets desk again*
The ringer for me…. let’s open a sexy novel with the phrase, “If you owned a vagina, you couldn’t help but notice t his man as he walked into the restaurant.” I think that might be a record for the least number of words written before saying the word “vagina” .

I have to say that it is really hot and the sex scenes are practically volcanic.

The story has huge potential but the author needs to put the brakes on, slow everything down and add much more detail. The relationship between Christopher and Megan develops so fast - he summons her to his office and within about 30 seconds, he has his hand up her skirt. I think we need to see more of their mutual attraction before we get to that stage. Also, the whole storyline with Christopher and his dubious contacts needs more detail too.

3 stars for the great potential.
