Posted on 19 February 2016 by Admin - Mike Cortez

This week in, The Brew! We took a month off to look over 2016 and everything that is to come. We have big plans to revamp Texas Beer Guide and spending some much needed time updating and adding breweries. Thank you to everyone that has stuck by us and even supported the release of the book “Beer Lover’s Texas”. Thank you to everyone that came out last month to the book signing in Houston at Brazos Bookstore and big thanks to our friends from Back Pew Brewing, Town in City Brewing and SpindleTap Brewery for being part of the event. We look forward to continue bringing you all the news and events in the Texas craft beer community. This week, we talk about a central Texas brewery that is finally opening their taproom, we talk about an upcoming event that is expected to sell out soon and lastly we give you the rundown of a series of festivals taking over Texas. Check it out now in this week’s edition of, The Brew!

whitestone

Cedar Park – This weekend kicks off the grand opening of Whitestone Brewery. Whitestone was founded by former software engineer and home brewer Ryan Anglen who brought on Kris Gray formerly from Stone Brewing as his head brewer. Together they are helping to put Cedar Park on the map for as a craft beer destination. This weekend they will be unveiling the new tap room and welcoming attendees in with offerings of their six year round releases. This weekend they will have live music, food trucks, raffle prizes and of course beer. The brewery is family and dog friendly but make sure both your children are on leashes and your dogs are well behaved. Lastly, Whitestone has a crowler machine so be sure to pick up some beers to go. We wish the guys at Whitestone all the best and look forward to checking out the brewery soon. Click here for more information.
