Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2 By Joëlle Jones
After reading Joëlle Jones’ Future State Wonder Woman I continue with the spin-off series of Wondergirl (7 issues), where Jones introduces her officially into the DC Universe.
In Homecoming Part Two: Yara receives a sacred gift from the river Goddess Iara and is ready to be on her way to greatness. Little does she know, another pantheons have been watching her as well. In part two she has Artemis, Wondergirl, Eros and even some of the Amazons after her.
Themes: Brazil, a merry chase.
4 Stars Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2 The next installment of Yara's story wonderfully incorporates the Brazilian myth of Iara, her namesake. Not sure how I feel about Eros showing up at the end, but I'm interested. Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2 An okay issue. I'm interested in reading further, but so far I'm not as hooked. Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2 Nowhere near as good as the first issue, but I'm invested now so I'll keep reading. Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2 !!! This series continues with its strong start!! I'm loving Yara as a character, the fact that they are really using so much mythology for this story, the way all these little different pieces are building up to make a bigger picture for the story, and the inclusion of some many great (and underused) characters! I'm so freaking excited that Cassie Sandsmark/Wonder Girl is going to be part of this book! I was fearful she was going to disappear into the DC comics vault again after the ending of Young Justice. I adore her and I'm so happy she is being utilized. Also! Artemis! Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2
After receiving a sacred gift from the gods of Brazil, our hero seems destined for great things. Little does she know, another pantheon has been watching her as well. Hera, queen of the Greek gods, has chosen Yara to become her latest champion. But what need does the goddess have for a warrior of her own? Find out in this stirring second issue! Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2
I'm not someone who reads a lot of comics so It's kind of hard to understand all of the characters and the significance they carry, but besides that, this is REALLY good, the illustrations are so clever and I love Yara and the Brazilian incorporation in this classic!! Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2 Pretty awesome issue! Wonder girls everywhere. Nice fights. A bit jarring to change from different characters but keeps it exciting. Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2 Excellent storytelling filled with mythology and classic WW themes that also feels fresh and new. Art is perfect too. Wonder Girl (2021-2022) #2 This issue was even more action than the first
LoVED the scene with Iara
