Written for kids but taught this adult a few things about Churchill I never knew. Winston Churchill Biography for Kids (Just the Facts Book 10) Born in 1874 to a wealthy family, Winston Churchill was mostly brought up by a nanny and governess. His favorite lessons were French, history, poetry, horse riding and swimming. When Winston went to Harrow he joined the Harrow Rifle Corps where his interest in the military really grew.
Learn about his speech impediment, marriage, military training etc. Did you know that he became an official politician in 1900? What year did he have his appendix out?
Although this book jumps a little from school to marriage and family and then back to military training along with his working as a war correspondent in the late 1800's, the wealth of information in this book is a great resource for children. What Winston achieved in his lifetime was pretty amazing. Throughout the book there are plenty of pictures from childhood up through adulthood.
Yes the link at the end of the book for the videos says castles but you will discover that there are 9 videos on the life of Winston Churchill :) A great educational resource that I highly recommend.
