Whether you call them gods, angels, ETs, or aliens, sufficient proof now exists that beings more advanced than humans have influenced our history. Evidence suggests that these outsiders shaped our religions, genes, technology, and cultures. In fact, they may have provided the impetus for modern civilization.
Paul Von Ward investigates why modern science and religion refuse to address the possibility that humans interact with Advanced Beings (ABs). He reviews sacred texts, myths and legends--from the Old Testament, Hebrew texts, and the Vedas, to the Greek myths, Sumerian tablets, and other historical sources to make the link between religions, their gods, and alien intervention. He shows how this history of AB intervention has been suppressed and challenges readers to reexamine the origins of notions like divine revelation to find common ground among the world's cultures and religions.

This book is not perfect but it is very close to being what I would write if I had the presence of mind to tie together all the other good books I've read in the last few years. I won't elaborate on the books contents or offer any criticism.
Anyone who is not amenable to alternative theory will be quite uncomfortable reading this. Paul takes some fringe concepts, congeals them into a brickbat and beats the living tar out of mainstream dogma. This goes way beyond being a history of extraterrestrial intervention.
If you're not interested in having your paradigms challenged then by all means ignore this epiphany. If you have an interest it is available through the Hennepin County Library.
I will be purchasing a copy for my library and looking into his other work. Thank God for the free press. 9781571746665 Your view of religion and government, and it's effect on society will never be the same after reading this book. 9781571746665 It took a while because it was a complex and interesting read. The title of the book is the premise: that humans have never been alone, influenced by Advanced Beings (ABs) for thousands of years. Von Ward makes a strong case that ABs have influenced human culture, psyche, technology, and even biology. He uses multiple evidence to make this case: translations of historical documents, known historical events, personal accounts of AB interactions, language, and human biology just to name the major evidences. Taken each one alone, the case for AB interaction in human affairs is weak; the strength of Von Ward's work is taking all the evidence and providing one integrated story that becomes a much stronger case in support of the premise. Von Ward's interpretation of AB intervention is that we were both helped (as in surviving catastrophe; increased technology) and hurt (current science/religion schisms, religious wars) by AB intervention and human interpretation of such actions. The text becomes a bit repetitive and preachy by the end. This latter weakens the text's ability to be used in a rigid scientific investigative format. However, the story is complete enough to be a set of observations that can be used in hypothesis driven investigations to better support or refute the premise of never being alone. 9781571746665
