She’s a romantic at heart, living in the most unromantic of worlds .Nicknamed Sweet Abelli for her docile nature, Elena smiles on cue and has a charming response for everything. She’s the favored daughter, the perfect mafia principessa . or was. Now, all she can see in the mirror’s reflection is blood staining her hands like crimson paint. They say first impressions are everything .In the murky waters of New York’s underworld, Elena’s sister is arranged to marry Nicolas Russo. A Made Man, a boss, a cheat—even measured against mafia standards. His reputation stretches far and wide and is darker than his black suits and ties. After his and Elena’s first encounter ends with an accidental glare on her part, she realizes he’s just as rude as he is handsome. She doesn’t like the man or anything he stands for, though that doesn’t stop her heart from pattering like rain against glass when he’s near, nor the shiver that ghosts down her spine at the sound of his voice. And he’s always near. Telling her what to do. Making her feel hotter than any future brother in law should. Elena may be the Sweet Abelli on the outside, but she’s beginning to learn she has a taste for the darkness, for rough hands, cigarettes, and whiskey colored eyes. Having already escaped one scandal, however, she can hardly afford to be swept up in another.Besides, even if he were hers, everyone knows you don’t fall in love with a Made Man . right? This is a standalone forbidden romance.

Most of the books I purchased I find them on tik tok. The hype for this series of books did not disappoint. This is the first book and I really loved it. The story goes so smooth and it keeps you attached until the end. I did read while on holiday and I loved it. The main characters , the tension of love between them, soo good. I do recommend it 10/10. Will start reading the second book soon. The Sweetest Oblivion: 1 — Danielle’s writing style + the storyline + chemistry between characters + crazy family it was all so = AMAZING!!⁣⁣𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘: forbidden romance, dark/mafia, slow burn, arranged marriage, enemies to lovers The Sweetest Oblivion: 1 I went into this book alittle skeptical as the reviews were mixed. But I was shocked. When I say that I read this in one sitting, I truly meant it the sun came up before the book went down. Characters were so well written as well as the book. The ‘scenes’ were steamy and no cringe in sight! Ughh im in love with this author! Tension all the way through and a happy ending :) can’t wait to read the rest 💕 The Sweetest Oblivion: 1 danielle, babe, we need to have a chat about paying for my therapy because if you don’t you will be solely responsible when i go try marry a real mafia man and get murdered.seriouslyi mean, my mans nico literally burned down a gas station because the worker disrespected his girl. i mean who wouldn’t want a mafia man after reading that.and don’t even get me started on the sexual tension AGGHHH🥵🥵🥵. i was sweating. like who turned up the heating mani politely request any mafia men who most likely won’t murder me to message me. but only if you’re like this man. thank youi highly recommend this series, and the best thing is it gets even better. i’ve heard a lot of people say they didn’t enjoy this book but loved the last two as well, so even if you pick this one up and maybe don’t vibe w it, definitely try the other two because they are so worth it. The Sweetest Oblivion: 1 4.5 starsNico didn’t treat me like glass. He shattered the reflection of an empty life staring back at me.He taught me how to soar.”This was my first book by Danielle Lori and I absolutely adored it.I ordered this book on a whim, intrigued by the beautiful cover and I am so glad I took a chance. In the Sweetest Oblivion, you'll get a sweet yet sassy heroine in Elena Abelli and a ruthless yet passionate mafia don in Nico Russo. My favorite part of the book was the slowburn romance it was executed so well. The tension between Elena and Nico is immaculate. They both know they shouldn't be attracted to each other and yet even as they try to deny it, it's impossible just as it's impossible not to root for them. I loved how they both had their own assumptions of each other and how this gradually changed as they got to know each other.Danielle Lori has put her own little twist on the arranged marriage trope, which I don't want to spoil but I loved that the book gave me some surprises. I personally found that this book stood out within the mafia genre. The writing was so beautiful and just a side note I adored the little illustrations and quotes at the start of each chapter. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because I found the ending a little rushed BUT this still remains one of my most loved books.I would absolutely recommend this book (and the rest of the series!) for likable characters, immaculate tension and beautiful writing. If I were to describe the book in a sentence: the most wonderful slowburn romance I've ever read. The Sweetest Oblivion: 1
