I've been an avid fan of allegorical fantasy since first reading Narnia at age 5, so I was immediately intrigued by the concept of The Call. And I wasn't disappointed! This story has the allegorical feel of Chuck Black's Kingdom series--powerful themes of obedience to the King set in a medieval world. A thoroughly enjoyable read, and the promises and questions it raised leave me anxious for the sequel! The Call: The Prophet: Book One
