Some scars don't heal.
A year has past since the death of notorious child murderer, Royce Anderson. In his wake, there was only a single survivor, Tamika Little. Everything should be better now, but it's not.
Tamika can't escape the horrible nightmares and visions that have plagued her for the last year. And something new, the ability to see things from the past just by touching a person or thing begins to manifest.
Things go from bad to worse as a new string of murders is accompanied by her mother's disappearance. Tamika will need the help of a trio of high school students, her gothic stepsister, and a mysterious old psychic woman if she wants to find her mom before she's implicated in the deaths. And what does all this have to do with a certain necklace? The Broken Chain (The Ravenwood Hauntings, #2)
I cried over Tamika and Butch's fates in this book. I loved seeing the different kinds of psychic abilities that developed and the difficulties those emerging powers represent. It's a stark contrast when Butch is left to deal with his powers alone and Tamika receives overwhelming support. By the end of the book, things have escalated so many times that you think it can't possibly get any more heartwrenching and then the ending happens and snipes you in the feels. I cried for days over the ending and the only thing making it better was that I feared an even more tragic ending. It's beautifully written and I did love it but this book hurt me. N.J. I really enjoyed the plot of this novel. The idea was original and it was well written. It was a page turner and I found myself looking forward to seeing what would happen next in the story. Hanson is a talented writer and I can’t wait to continue to read more of his novels. N.J. Hanson
