Taking Shape II: The Lost Halloween Sequels By texasbeerguide.com

It’s a very detailed breakdown of a plethora of sequels which made it to various stages of pre production. Backed up by the story behind each failed sequel (why, what, when) great insight into movie making and even better if you have an even remote interest in the ‘Halloween’ series. 978-0578745268 An essential read for horror fans and Halloween franchise die hards. This exhaustive book traces the development history of many unrealized sequels and reboots in the series while addressing the creative conflicts and studio politics that often lead to their demise. 978-0578745268 A fantastic book and a real treat for fans of the Halloween movies. I enjoyed this even than the first Taking Shape book. These descriptions of all the unmade Halloween sequels are treasures! While I won’t reread the entire book next October, I am going to reread the plot description of each unmade sequel and dream of a million possible Halloween movies. 978-0578745268 I picked this book up after really enjoying part 1. I enjoyed learning about the wide variety of scripts that have been written over the years, as well as the interviews with the people that wrote them. A lot of them would have taken the franchise on a different (and in my opinion, at times, better) path than what was actually put on screen. If you want to take a deeper dive into the franchise's long and complicated history, pick up both volumes in this series. 978-0578745268 I loved reading about all of the rejected sequel scripts. The author's writing is a little one dimensional (he refers to Myers as the slasher one too many times).
And WARNING for those that haven't seen Halloween 2018 the ending of the book does spoil the conclusion of that film.
Nevertheless, as a fan you'd be crazy to miss an opportunity to read this book. 978-0578745268
As a lifelong fan of the Halloween series, I found the concept behind this book intriguing and bought it on a whim. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down! The authors really do their research well and give us a very in depth look at all the Halloween movies we almost got. Such a fun read! There is only one downside: once you know what could have been in some of these cases, you find yourself saddened that it didn't happen. 978-0578745268 To keep it short and simple, this book delves in depth into several great potential storiesthat were completely rejected for one reason or another, or had parts of them used in actual films. Some of the proposed projects had so much great potential that SHOULD have seen the light of a theatre's projector. If you are either a serious Halloween Movie buff or even a medium fan (as I am), you'll find yourself saying Wow, this WOULD have made an awesome film!. 978-0578745268 I absolutely loved the first Taking Shape and this one is no different. I haven't finished it yet but I'm really excited every time I pick it up because I'm getting the inside scoop on all of the films that could have been (and luckily have not come to fruition). Some had really great ideas while others had ideas. But regardless, it's awesome to read about the good, the bad, the almost made it, and the thank god this never saw the light of day until nows. If you're a fan of the Halloween movies, this should be a no brainer. Just buy it. Stop reading this. Bypass the add to cart option and just click buy now. Why are you still reading this? Seriously. So you have a crush on me or something. Message me on Instagram. But first just buy the darn book. 978-0578745268 Last year's Taking Shape was the most comprehensive overview this series has gotten (at least until someone makes a 6 7 hour documentary like the ones for the Nightmare and Friday series) and Taking Shape II is an even meatier companion piece, exploring the many (many many) alternate sequel scripts and treatments that never came to be. Like the dozens of aborted Freddy vs Jason ideas detailed in Slash of the Titans, this may actually give you a new appreciation for what did get made, considering some of the ideas that were kicked around (a 12 foot tall Michael Myers, an MTV era Michael with a leather jacket, a portal to another dimension located in the Myers house, Michael has another surprise sister, yikes). Each would be entry has a well written introduction followed by an in depth summary and usually 1 3 interviews with the writers and/or directors, so it's recommended to just tackle one per sitting because there's so much to take in. This wasn't the cheapest book but with the amount of time you'll spend poring through, it's well worth it. 978-0578745268 I really enjoyed this! I remember back in the day when some these sequels were first announced, never knew there were that many of them though. To be honest I'm glad none of those films made it to the screen, to be fair there were some good ideas thrown in there, Right now I think the series is in good hands, Hopefully.Guess we'll all have to wait and see what Shape it takes next! 978-0578745268
