Run and Hide (An Eva Driscoll Thriller #1) By Alan McDermott
Holy expletive
Wow! That was intense. I quite literally could not put it down. I was in a constant state of worry. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I enjoyed the humor and the action. Driscoll is badarse! English Sometimes book capture you and take you on a journey. Other books grab hold of you and take you on a rollercoaster of fast paced action and force you to turn a page. The books that cause the just one more page and for the reader to run out and order the next one. These books are special and definitely worth reading.
@ alan.mcdermott has created a book that demands to be read. I was so excited when I found out that Eva has more books and have already downloaded to read. Sometimes a fast paced book can leave the reader with whiplash. But the amazing writing allows you to watch the scenes unfold in your mind.
I always adore a strong female lead and Eva is just that. I personally love her.
If you love a thriller and a fast paced page turning story with twists and turns then I highly recommend this book. English Government conspiracy
First off, i want to say that i enjoyed the book. There was plenty of action and the characters were believable. That said, it's very evident that the author is not familiar with the American political system. He confuses the policies of the two political parties and assumes Presidential powers that don't exist. Still, i will look for the next book in the series. Wow, I loved the pace of this story. It kept moving so fast I started to feel worn out trying to keep up lol.
An absolute page turner and I can't wait to start the next book in the series. English

There’s only so long you can run for your life.
Eva Driscoll is used to chasing down bad guys, but now the bad guys are chasing her. She knows they won’t stop until she’s dead.
After her brother is killed in a faked suicide, Driscoll teams up with ex-soldier Rees Colback, the one person who can help her find answers. Together they’re determined to uncover why members of his Special Forces squad are dying in mysterious circumstances.
But with every agency in the country in hot pursuit, their only choice is to flee.
The clock is ticking. They can’t run forever. It’s time to make a choice: kill or be killed… Run and Hide (An Eva Driscoll Thriller #1)
Run and Hide is a high octane read that grabbed me by the throat and left me hungry for more! I loved every word of it and it would make a great action movie.
The author does an amazing job of creating believable, three-dimensional characters and I quickly became invested in Eva and Rees’s plight. Eva is an excellent character. She’s fearless, ruthless, focussed, likeable, and handy with a gun and can outsmart any opponent. She’s a force to be reckoned with and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for her and her team.
The action moves at a rapid pace with brilliant detailing of advanced satellite tracking, illegal cash transactions and bucket loads of violence. There were loads of twists and turns along the way and the gripping and cleverly executed finale had me on the edge of my seat. I downloaded book 2 as soon as I finished and it’s just as good!
Run and Hide is a nail biting, rollercoaster of a read, packed with conspiracy, drama, action and intrigue and I can’t recommend it enough. All thriller fans should check out this series. English This is the first Eva Driscoll thriller and what a pulsating read it is. By the end I felt quite breathless.
Push the accelerator to the floor and hang on. This is one fast-paced, action packed ride as CIA agent, Eva Driscoll, finds herself the hunted instead of the hunter. Used to clearing up problems covertly, she knows something is wrong the moment her brother dies. Refusing to believe he killed himself, she soon discovers other members of his army unit have also died suddenly. She saves Rees Colback, the last member of the unit, and together they set out to discover who’s trying to destroy them and why.
Their search for the truth is carried out on the run, fighting for their lives against the agencies that were once her employers. But Eva’s too smart to run and takes the fight to the enemy, despite the odds against her for a furious climax that still manages a neat twist.
It’s action all the way. The pace is frenetic, the characters sharp and believable, and the story never sags or lets up, leading you to a breathless climax. While this isn’t my usual kind of read, I was caught up in the story from the opening pages and enjoyed every minute.
If you like an action packed thriller where the good guys are up against overwhelming odds, you should enjoy this. And with more books in the series, there’s plenty to look forward to. English By far the worst book I've ever read. The only plot or action is little more than a 600-page car chase, there is so much completely useless racism, fat phobia (and I'm not even a radical), the characters are flat, impersonal, none of them likeable or with much depth, we're baited to think the story will be about a black man chased for no reason (depictes as white on the cover - what the actual F?!), but in fact the whole story is merely a sick ode to a tone deaf despicable mary sue whose only quality is that she's aparently failproof seductive, is capable of whipping up a dyson sphere using a hairpin and a paper scrap and who somehow has lots of friends who help her at the cost of their lives in spite of her hating, insulting, sadistically hurting and blackmailing everyone and just being obnoxious and disgusting at absolutely all times. It's impossible to feel any sort of sympathy for her, she's not an interesting antihero, but the real villain in this book. I just wish they caught her and did her head in almost as soon as she showed up.
Warnings: yellowface, blackface, scrotum torture, fatphobia, ageism, sexism for all genders, sadism and just everything very poorly written, it's just a long chase with very rare attempts at jokes. At this point, I'm just surprised that nobody kills a dog in this book, it's that bad. Zero stars. English Having read the Tom Gray novels I was looking forward to, for me, this new series featuring Eva Driscoll. I was not disappointed. And as it’s a reprint there are more books in the series ready to read. This is a fast paced action thriller with some great characters and a fabulous plot line. Eva is a proper kickass heroine a la Lara Croft and I was rooting for her from the start.
Briefly, Eva is pursuing the killers of her brother, a multi trillion dollar organisation with fingers in everything. Joining up with 4 others she is on a deadly mission without knowing who she can trust. In a high octane brutal chase across America she hunts down ruthless killers before they can hunt her down.
As I would expect in one of this authors books there is a large body count and some pretty graphic violence. You know what to expect from the genre and you get it in spades. A great read full of action and a climactic ending. Fabulous ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was such an easy read with lots of action. It kind if reminded me of Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code, that’s my favourite book. 📙
The good thing about this book is that it’s not dragged. The story flows nicely around the main characters and ends in time.
But it didn’t grab me and I can’t pin it on something. I fast read the book and skipped the middle. I really enjoyed the first few chapters. English
