I am impressed with the quality of the book! Honestly, well diserved 5 stars! Really nice pages and sturdy cover. Well finished and amazing colour pictures all over the book, it really sets the mood for the theme with the pictures. It has a lot of content, explanations and background information too. Basically everything you'd be asking him of you watching the videos with him. I started reading it today and now i can't wait for the next weekend to cozy up with it and continue. I primarily got it as a way of supporting John but I knew the content was going to be right up my alley. Primitive Technology: A Survivalists Guide to Building Tools, Shelters, and More in the Wild I love Primitive Technology and his videos, I've been a fan for a long time, so when I heard he was releasing a book I was all over it, but the quality of the book I received isn't great. A lot of the pages were stuck together and the edges were frayed. The corners of the cover were also a bit worn, even though the book was fresh out of the envelope. I know it's probably a one off mistake or something but it's still a bit disappointing. Once again nothing against the author and his fine work, I just hope no one else has this problem should they order this book. Primitive Technology: A Survivalists Guide to Building Tools, Shelters, and More in the Wild Let me start with that i am a massive fan of the youtube channel and have been there since the first video and when i seen the book advertised on the videos i pre ordered the book straight away, (learnt my lesson now like i did with video games).When the first one arrived the books spine at the top was damaged,so i got that replaced only to have damage on the bottom of the spine but not as bad so i was okay with it,I went to read the book and found out there is only a little bit of information on each tool, shelter ETC and there is too many pictures, for me personally i feel the target audience of the book is for children from 8 to 14 year old teens,Also why is there a centerfold?! a bad decision in my opinion as if its a magazine from a corner shop.For its price it is not worth it, maybe on a sale of £5 and nothing as this is of a slight introduction and you will learn from watching the videos on the channel,i did see a responding comment to a review saying the book is to compliment the channel but i feel there are some fans that are doomsday preppers and survivalist that will attempt to practice and will have to do a lot of guess work of they don't have the videos on the subject to hand for examples.TL:DROverall i was excited to get my hands on this book but it has been a massive let down and in my opinion is not a survivalists guide. At one point i think I remember reading that I should cut things with the sharp side. This is like a kids book, as a previous reviewer pointed out.
