RE: Vision: The Key to Transforming Your Church By Aubrey Malphurs

This is a solid book for young pastors.

This book is fantastic for young pastors to become a visionary pastor. It has stats and first hand research to help the reader to see the need to be intentional with their church ministry. What a fantastic book. 0801016827

Aubrey Malphurs Ó 2 Summary

Pastors around the country continue to look for the program, the book, or the sermon series that will turn their plateaued or declining churches around. But what if the answer to revitalizing the church was closer to home? According to trusted church leadership expert Aubrey Malphurs and veteran pastor Gordon E. Penfold, it is. They believe that pastors themselves are the key. In a time when many pastors are jumping from church to church every two or three years as they search for the right fit where they can make a difference, churches are suffering from a lack of sustained leadership from pastors with a viable vision for ministry.

In Re: Vision, Malphurs and Penfold take pastors through a process of discovery and self-evaluation designed to help them re-envision their role, create a culture for positive change, and recruit people to come alongside them as helpers and encouragers. Multiple appendices offer self-diagnostic tools and surveys to help pastors assess their strengths and weaknesses for more effective ministry. RE: Vision: The Key to Transforming Your Church

Good overview

Lots of really practical and implementable information to use. Lot of new material and a lot of fundamental reminders. Good overall 0801016827 This book will be particularly helpful for small churches with some or many untrained (especially in the areas of mission, vision, values, strategy, practice, etc.) leaders. This book will help you think through your church as it currently is and provide you with good thoughts on how to move from where you are to where you should be.

Church planting has taken the front seat recently in church ministry. In the process, church revitalization has been virtually ignored. BOTH are needed. Many churches out there are shooting themselves in the foot and dying what could have been a preventable death. This book will help you analyze your church and your leadership and even provide some practical steps toward making change and progress.

At times, the book is lengthy and too formulaic, but at its core provides many helpful and insightful truths and suggestions. If your church is in need of transformation (even just a little) the principles and truths of this book will guide your thought process from beginning to end. 0801016827 This an excellent book for those desiring to see God revitalize their church! 0801016827 This book spends way too much time on research methods and the temperament profile of successful revitalization pastors. Not much is offered as a process of renewal other than cast a great vision. 0801016827 Many things were helpful in this book, but much of it has been repackaged from other books by Aubrey. Vision, Mission and a culture of change, along with personal temperaments and gifts, are emphasized. Some pastors will be discouraged by this book as they do not qualify as a re-envisioning pastor. Also, I do not believe enough emphasis is made throughout on the place of prayer and the work of the Holy Spirit. However, with all of that being said, there is plenty of information that makes this book a worthwhile read for those asking God to re-ignite His Church. 0801016827
