This is a truly beautiful book. It has been carefully designed and the choice of font and overall layout contribute to pleasure of reading it. The author is a serious walker and excellent photographer. He has picked out routes that will inspire you and perhaps draw you way from the 'honeypot' routes that many people head for. Each walk is shown on a map and the route described, including a number of viewpoints to look out for which are then illustrated by the photographs, combined with unobtrusive but helpful technical details. If you like to walk, this is a great book. If you are a photographer who likes to walk the hills, it's an absolute must. Maybe you are not able to do either but love the mountains of Snowdonia get it anyway! I wanted to plan my days to get the most out of my time and to gain some knowledge on where to go and what to photograph. This book is fantastic as it breaks Snowdonia into manageable chunks depending on what you can achieve (accent and distance etc) in a day. It shows in photographs, scenes you can achieve at particular points. Nick Livesey loves Snowdonia and photography and this comes through in this book which is beautifully done and importantly is simple to use as a photographic tool and knowledge base for the whole of the Snowdonia region. Unfortunately due to lockdown I've not been able to go yet 😩 but have through this book planned exactly where I need to stay and what to do each day ( weather permitting) to try and achieve the shots I want.
