3.5 ADORABLE STARS

Just. Adorable. This book kept me up at night and early morning. It's rare that I get to enjoy a good YA romance because good ones are hard to find.

This book would have been 4 stars if it weren't for the short epilogue. It threw me off a little bit but overall the book is pretty enjoyable. ✨ Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult Let me start of by saying, that yes, this book does contain some swear words, and a little innuendo, nothing I found offensive, but I just want to confirm that little note the author put in the book description herself.
This book was one of those one’s that sucked me in straight from the first page. Bea, or as Cam likes to call her Bebe, has loved Cam(eron) from the day she met him. He has also loved her back, but they both haven’t ever had the nerve to speak up.
This book alternates between Bebe’s and Cam’s POV, and give you a very clear imagine into the inner workings of the teenage mind, both the female and male perspective. Daniels hit it spot on, and had me laughing out loud through most of this read. I loved the alternative POV, as I strongly feel each story has at least two sides to it, and giving you that always makes it that much more complete.
Reading this book brought back a lot of my teenage memories, and I enjoyed it a lot. I loved Bebe’s snarkiness, it reminds me a lot of myself, I must admit.
As I said before, the story drew me in to the point that putting the book down to go to work or get things done was a real punishment. Eventually I kept reading until well into the night, falling asleep with my kindle app open, just because I couldn’t put this one down.
When I did finish the book, after two days, it hurt to say goodbye to them. And the epilogue gave away too much for me, as I would have liked to see a sequel with Beth’s story. Sadly I know who she ends up with, but I’m rooting for Daniels to make it possible for me to still get that side of the story. Because after all of Beth’s efforts, that girl deserves her HEA.
I hope we will get a sequel/new book from Daniels soon, as she has gained a fan in me, and I am anxious to read more! Keep up the good work!
Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult Let me be very clear: I’m totally siding with Bebe on this one. If a guy is too *coughlamecough* to step forward while he’s been treating you like his worn-out-shoe-of-a-little-sister for years, what is a girl to think?! Yeah, yeah, Cameron has a good point too, he doesn’t want to admit his feelings and mess up their current friendship but as any girl would tell any guy, “How was I supposed to know? I can’t read your mind!” Now, back to the book review: This is very well-written and took me right back to high school. Yea. Seriously. Right back to high school. I felt like I was there. I’ll admit, high school wasn’t that bad for me and I like NOT being there, too. Really fun read. I had a very hard time putting it down.
4 ½ Stars. Moderate swearing. Otherwise clean. Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult Impressed this is the author's first published fiction work. Wouldn't have known by reading this. Especially impressive was the author's ability to write from both a teen girl and teen boy's perspective. Liked that the author kept this YA sensually clean, but still with realistic teen attraction feelings. Could have done with out the infrequent mild profanity. There is sort of a love triangle with 2 likeable young men interested in the heroine, but since you know both BeBe and Cam are already mutually in love and have been for 2 years (though they are oblivious about the mutual part) there is no agnst about what team to be on or couple to ship.

Language: Some profanity with infrequent use of the a** word.

Sensuality content: Clean. Kisses only. Some innuendo. Staring at shirtless hero by heroine and other high school girls.

Source: Amazon Prime Reading loan. Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult It took me a few chapters to get used to the super snarky/sassy and over-the-top style of first person narration and dialogue, but I was quickly drawn to the Cam and Bianca's vulnerabilities hidden beneath overly confident exteriors. They each have a case of what they think is unrequited love for each other, and I couldn't put the book down as I read to see how their feelings would be revealed to each other. There is plenty of humor in the male perspective from Cam, often bordering on ridiculous, but he really does grow on you. Bianca was drama central but you get the feeling that she's not normally that way... or at least to that extreme. Overall it was highly entertaining with fun twists and a great ending! A young adult novel that will definitely be enjoyed by teens, young adults, and not-so-young adults ;) The author/publisher recommends for ages 12 and up, but my personal recommendation is 14 and up.

Perfectly

Cameron Bates (Cam) could have almost any girl at Franklin High School…except for the one he wants. Unfortunately Bebe seems to be immune to his flirty charm and good looks, which means one of two things: a) she’s completely oblivious to how he feels, or b) she’s just not into him. If that’s the case, declaring his love would be disastrous for their friendship.

Bianca Barnes (Bebe) has a huge problem: the universe hates her. Every time she admits feelings for a boy, he ends up falling for her sweet, popular, and beautiful sister Beth. To avoid a broken heart, Bebe has sworn herself to secrecy. Nobody can know how she feels about Cam…Ever!

Neither person wants to confess their feelings, but the universe has its own plan. Out of the blue, Bebe is courted by a secret admirer. Cam has to step up his game and Bebe has to make a choice. Play it safe and accept the affections of her mystery man or challenge fate and take a chance on the boy she loves.

Content Description: This is a stand-alone YA contemporary romance with companion novels to follow. It contains minor language, innuendo, crude humor and steamy tension but is generally very clean. No sex. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
Perfectly Oblivious (Perfect #1)

This would have been five stars from me if it weren't for all the swearing. This is a super cute YA novel set in high school. The author did a fantastic job with her characters. They were vibrant and full of life and fun. I was completely caught up in the whole story. I read through this one quickly and enjoyed it beginning to end. It made me smile.

I wish I could edit out the swearing. My daughter would LOVE this book but she won't be reading it because of that dumb swearing. boo.

Content: Frequent mild swearing Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult (4.5 Stars) I adored this story and was really surprised that it's a debut novel for this author. I'm going to get this out of the way from the very first, because it's my only problem with this book. I'm not a fan of swearing and thankfully the language stays mild, but it is kind of frequent at times. If that had been cut out or cut in half, I would have given it 5 stars for sure.

Bebe and Cam--best friends, fiercest competitors, and secret crushes. Bebe is a very athletic girl and she can dish the sass out when needed, especially with her cute neighbor, Cam. He's also athletic and he teases her like he's a ten-year-old, which is so sweet, but it never clues her in to his real feelings. I absolutely loved their banter--the wit, the sarcasm, and the fun drew me right into the story.

I thought Daniels captured the teen angst, teen drama, and teen insecurities perfectly. I tend to think it's the girls who are always unsure of themselves, but it can be boys too, especially when a lot is on the line. I love the secret admirer angle and how creative it is and how it stretches the characters to come into their full potential. The chemistry is perfect for high school.

My favorite things about this story are the characters and their relationships. Beth is Bebe's twin and they have the best sister/friend relationship ever! It makes me a little jealous that I didn't take advantage of that with my sister during high school. Not only that, but Beth is a great friend to Cam too. The teammates, friends, potential dates, etc are all fantastically well-written and done so in a way that really made them feel alive. I wanted to jump right into this book and be one of the characters. It took me back to my own teen days and I could help smiling throughout. I cannot wait to read more from this author, so I hope she keeps writing.

Content: mild, frequent language; some innuendo, kissing, talk of hooking up.

*I received a copy, which did not influence my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.* Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult Loved this one!! So cute. Can't wait for her next book.
content: mild language and some mild innuendo Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult 2.5 stars! I picked this book up because i am a sucker for a good best friends turned lovers troupe. This book was annoying with bits and pieces of adorable stuff tucked in. The Mcs...uuuuuuggghhh. The h was soo insecure it was annoying and so oblivious to things because of said insecurity that made me roll my eyes every once In a while. She kept going on and on about hw she is not pretty at all and her sister is so perfect and eveybody wants her and all....uuuugghh it jst drained me, cant even begin to talk about hw overly cocky the H was in his head....he kept saying i am so hot and can get anyone i want but i want her.....every freaking time like a little humility pls! I jst felt like they were at the extremes of a scale of insecurity to overconfidence. I wish he gave her a little of his confidence and she gave him a little insecurity to balance themselves out. But his gestures was pretty cute but i wanted more! More from the plot...jst more. Nice HEA of course but i didnt really enjoy the book in general. I couldnt wait to finish it so i could start a new one. Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult Its a cute, obvious (storyline) and easy summer read. I´ve read it in one sitting and I enjoyed it, however because the story felt obvious and the writing style wasn´t my favorite I can´t give it more than 3 stars. Romance, Contemporary, Young Adult
