One of the best WW II books everAnd boy does it provide what appears and feels like an honest broker's account of the behind the scenes maneuvering by the Big Chiefs who prosecuted the war against Japan in the Pacific. All the elements are there Very difficult to Nemesis AUTHOR Max Hastings New take on the war with Japan. I especially appreciated his take on the B 29 raids on Japan that killed so many innocent civilians. The small amount of sea mines LeMay allowed the B 29 force to seed in the waters around Japan sunk a lot of ships and had a larger Nemesis AUTHOR Max Hastings This fascinating book reveals many facts which are not generally known.
