Amei Zhao's storytelling is absolutely unique, it felt like most of the story was told via colour and perspective changes; emotions.
The story is eerie and lets a lot to your own imagination. And yet explains all you need to know.
Lastly, what a wonderful thing to to naturally fall in love with characters through their coffee and science trivia! English Almost purely an aesthetic/moody piece, mere hints of plot and conflict, so if you are in that kind of mood. English i loveeeeee this book so much. i first stumbled upon a beautiful artwork on tumblr about this beautiful long haired person in a monk suit with a cool scientist and i just want to know more about their story! it leaded me to buy this book when i was in highschool and fell in love with it as soon as i have the book in my hand. it’s so special for me, i love their dynamic and their gentle concern to each other.
i have so much scene that i love in this book but my ultimate fav part is when the scientist points out how the coffee maker is empty like his heart and after nameless “prays” it’s suddenly overflowing. (this is my reaction when it happen -> 😭💕)

Best of luck with the series, I’m always rooting for nameless and the scientist 💕 English I thought it'll include more action but I liked the story anyway. Also, I like coffee ;) English
