Much Ado About Murder (English Village Witch, #6) By Rosie Reed

It was such a joy to read the next instalment of this enjoyable book series, and to see what happens next for Evie, Alex and the cast of magical and kooky characters that inhabit the English country village of Maiden-upon-Avon.

As you can imagine, the book starts with a bizarre murder - although this time DCI Alex Taylor is somehow implicated! And not only that, the victim is none other than his rival in the local force, Chief Inspector Sheppard.
Evie knows Alex couldn't possibly have committed such a heinous crime, and sets off to prove his innocence - and to somehow track down the real murderer.

The story is set at Easter time, and spring is definitely in the air - and Evie and Alex covertly join forces to do an Easter hunt for clues. It doesn't help that the local magical committee have decided to send Evie on her first excursion to the mysterious land of Marvelton - but just what will she discover when she gets there?
She'll have to tread carefully should she cross paths with Lord Vilnius...

There's also a pushy record company exec in the village on the look-out for new talent - but is she all that she says she is? And what is the significance of the mysterious unicorn horn?

This is a fun and charming adventure that gives Evie a very tough murder case to solve - as well as a good dose of magical moments and crazy goings on. Will she ever get to snare her dreamboat, Alex - and get him to finally come out of his shell?
Evie will have to 'spring' into power and get all her eggs lined in her basket up as she goes on a mission to crack this Easter egg of a case! Much Ado About Murder (English Village Witch, #6) Read my review on NovelsAlive.com by clicking the link below. It is also posted in full.

Much Ado About Murder is the sixth book in the English Village Witch Cozy series by Rosie Reed.

There was so much going on, and I was engrossed from the first page to the last. There were a few dead bodies along with other crimes, loads of clues, and amateur sleuth and witch, Evie, who always seems to be helping her boyfriend, DCI Alex Taylor, and his fellow coppers solve the cases.

There were twists and turns to the story and many threads being woven together. We met up with characters and Beings of Magic and Evil whom we’ve met before, along with some new ones. Of course, those with magic intermingled with the humans, not realizing magic was happening around them, or did they? There were surprises, and I liked how plots from earlier books were knitted in.

The story had a good flow, and, of course, the crimes were solved with Evie’s help, but the ending seemed rushed. I didn’t guess whodunnit, which is a credit to the author. There was closure and a chance for a happily ever after for Alex and Evie since they may be taking the next step to being a couple. But how big of a step will they actually take?

Ms. Reed is an author whose paranormal cozy mysteries I’ve been enjoying, and I look forward to reading more of her books. If you like this genre, give her books a try. You might find some magic of your own! Much Ado About Murder (English Village Witch, #6) Another great mystery

A mystery that kept me guessing to the end. Ms. Reed has a wonderful imagination, I love how her mind works. One of my new favorite words is snogging..I tell my hubby I'm going to shot his face off all the time 😂 Its one of the many new words I have learned while reading this book. I am very happy that the romance has finally kicked up a notch. I highly recommended this series to all. Much Ado About Murder (English Village Witch, #6) I loved this book. This is another fun and entertaining visit to Maiden-Upon-Avon that will have you wishing that magic was real and you could join in with the fun, well not when a murder was committed or when zombies attacked but you know what I mean. The cast of characters feel like good friends that you want to catch up with and with book six I hope there is many more adventures to come. The romance side of the story also heats up after some inferring from some well meaning mischief makers. The mystery was interesting and contained a number of suspects that kept you guessing. But it was the fun the author had with the magic in this book that was the highlight for me. Animals that gate crash a party as humans but still act as the animals they normally are, zombie attacks, lions in kitchens. Okay it sounds a little bit weird, put that way but somehow it worked and I really enjoyed it, so much that I didn't want the story to end. I guess you will just have to give it ago yourself to see.
DCI Alex Taylor is in trouble with his boss but there is nothing new there, lately he can't do anything right and even solving a few murders isn't good enough. But nobody expects him to commit murder, that is until he is found standing over the dead body of arch-rival Chief Inspector Sheppard. His sort of girlfriend Evelyn knows he would never kill anyone but even be is insisting that he be arrested. Suspended from duty it is up to Evelyn and the gang to prove him innocent. First she will have to work out what killed Sheppard and was magic involved? The more she learns the hard it becomes to keep the existence of magic a secret, especially from the main murder suspect himself. How can she explain the unicorn dagger was the reason Alex felt compelled to stab the victim? But the more Alex learns the more he becomes vulnerable. Can Evelyn keep the man she loves safe and catch a killer? With her friends and chocolate around anything is possible.
I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review Much Ado About Murder (English Village Witch, #6) Finally finally they declare their love, its been slow build up and long wait. I cant wait for Alex and his sister to find out about magic. Specially since Sam is suppose to unite human and magical Much Ado About Murder (English Village Witch, #6)

Detectives are supposed to solve murders, not commit them! When half the village sees DCI Alex Taylor pull a dagger out of the body of his arch-rival Chief Inspector Sheppard, Evelyn knows he didn’t do it. But with no clues or suspects, what’s an amateur sleuth with a massive crush supposed to do?

Spring has come at last to enchanted Maiden-Upon-Avon and Evelyn wants to focus on the true meaning of Chocolate. But she’s thwarted as usual. Not only is there a murder to solve and a masked ball to organise, but also Evelyn needs to know why the murder weapon looked suspiciously like a unicorn horn. Is there magic involved? In Maiden-Upon-Avon, with its pagan mystical vibe, it’s likely!

And to thwart her even further, the Beings of Magic Committee have voted to send Evelyn on her very first mission to the magical land of Marvelton. If she runs into her Being of Evil father, Lord Vilnius, can she trust him? Perhaps she has no choice.

With lambs, unicorns, and chocolate galore, Evelyn’s toughest case yet can only be resolved by answering one pertinent No, not ‘Does Alex love her?’. But rather ‘How do you tackle a zombie apocalypse?’ It’ll take a powerful force indeed to find out!
