I was disspointed since photographs are super important in identification. One set of photgraphs had me believing they were another plant. The photos are grainy, or out of focus or poor cameras. Info was minimal but good. Mountain States Foraging: 115 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Alpine Sorrel to Wild Hops (Regional Foraging Series) Great book. I love taking it with me on my nature walks Mountain States Foraging: 115 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Alpine Sorrel to Wild Hops (Regional Foraging Series) Good one for Utah Uintas but a little too big for backpacking Mountain States Foraging: 115 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Alpine Sorrel to Wild Hops (Regional Foraging Series)
Great book. Good pictures. Covers a lot of wild edibles with nice descriptions. My kids have taken it to the mountains and found so many things to identify, bring home, and also experiment with ways to eat them. This book includes how to beat use the plant or berry and ideas. I have only had it a few weeks and already learned a lot. I’m a total beginner when identifying plants of any kind but this book has already given me some knowledge. Mountain States Foraging: 115 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Alpine Sorrel to Wild Hops (Regional Foraging Series) This book is super cool. Great pictures, concise information, including warnings about lookalikes. Very cool. This book got me super interested in plants. Mountain States Foraging: 115 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Alpine Sorrel to Wild Hops (Regional Foraging Series) I have really enjoyed this book, it's been very informative and has good pics for when your wanting to verify plants. I got this for my grandkids so they can learn while on camping trips in the Bighorns. Mountain States Foraging: 115 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Alpine Sorrel to Wild Hops (Regional Foraging Series) Packed with information, though a bit dry. It might well take years to learn it well. Most books featuring Washington state limit themselves to the coastal region, which is an entirely different biome. Mountain States Foraging: 115 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Alpine Sorrel to Wild Hops (Regional Foraging Series) I love this book. My husband and I take this and Mountain States Medicinal Plants (also by Briana Wiles) out foraging at very least once a week. The author did an amazing job describing how to identify so many plants and made it easy with clear pictures. Our lives are forever changed!
