This is the third book in the fantastic Millie series and a fantastic surprise as the last book had me thinking that that was it, so I was very excited to get back into Millie's world.

There were some really heart breaking scenes in Millie and the American Proposal. It really made me feel so sad. However I was very happy that Millie gets to go back to America again and we get to revisit her awesome friends and see how far they have come in the 5 years since Millie has been away. And I'm happy to report that they do still like their partying! Millie's friends aren't the only ones she meets again, but Rob her ex-boyfriend is back in New York!

I love Millie! She is a fantastic character. Really sweet and fun, definitely a friend I would like to have! I really really felt for her in the decisions she had to make, but knew that she had to go with what felt right.

I was just as indecisive as Millie about whether I was Team James or Team Rob. They both are so different and each have their own great qualities. Just as I would be leaning towards Team Rob, Team James would do something redeeming and I would feel so sorry for him. I won't say too much as don't want to spoil it!

I love Annabel's stories, they are so easy to get into and as soon as you have started, you have finished, but come out feeling all happy. AND they seriously make me crave a visit to the USA! Annabel makes it sound a lot more fun than the UK, especially restaurants with ninja's LOL!

A really lovely, sweet, enjoyable read! Millie and the American Proposal This is the third book in the Millie … series, following Millie and the American Wedding and Millie and the American University and I’ve been looking forward to it’s release. In The American Wedding we joined Millie as she attended her friend Kristen’s wedding in America. The Best Man at the wedding just happens to be Millie’s first love, the one who got away, better known as Rob … and his wife, Collette is with him. In The American University, we stepped back in time to Millie’s year as an exchange student at an American Campus, where she first meets Rob and they start dating.

In The American Proposal we head into the future, now at the grand old age of 29, Millie is in a long term relationship with James. They have made the leap of moving in together, into a lovely townhouse in Guildford and on paper everything looks wonderful. James has spent the past year working in Zurich, with Millie flying out to meet him as often as possible. She finally gets her boyfriend back home and is looking forward to them spending some quality time together when James gets a promotion in his Company and accepts it without discussing it with Millie first, assuming she’ll go with him to Singapore, give up her career and become a kept woman.

Our wonderfully independent leading lady is having none of that and calls it a day on their relationship, unwilling to go to Singapore and leave her life behind, but unable to spend another year rattling around inside an empty house waiting for James to return. Resigned to her teenage bedroom at her parent’s house, Millie is pleasantly surprised when her Company offer her a 3 month secondment in New York and off she trots back to America …

Delighted at the thought of spending some time both away from James and with some of her oldest friends, Millie’s initial excitement is dulled a little when she realises Rob is also in New York, separated from his Wife and now living alone. Old feelings begin to resurface, but is Millie just confused because of her recent separation or does she really want to be with Rob? And is it really then end of things with James?

Oh, I do love the Millie books and I’m not going to lie to you, it’s largely because Rob is kind of my perfect guy. Possibly the best looking Man I’ve never seen, as well as being a lovely mix of sweet and funny. Therefore I was obviously made up that he is a prime feature in this third installment. Go Team Rob! The banter between he and Millie is back and it’s as humorous as ever, whilst still being slightly sentimental and making my tummy a bit giddy. It must be love. But maybe it’s too far down the road for them, those of you who have read the previous books will know the history of this pair but don’t worry if you haven’t, as this latest story offers a few snippets of history to help you keep up.

With Team James, however, we get an equally attractive guy (that Millie always seems to pull the lookers!) and lashings of romance to boot. I’m not going to give anything away, but there are some grand romantic gestures to be had within this tale and it’s James who is delivering them.

As with the previous two books, Millie and the American Proposal is fun, romantic and hilarious. All of our favourite characters are back, although some have taken a back seat this time around making room for others to take the limelight as well introducing us to some new faces. Millie and the gang me be older but they still know how to have fun, make bad decisions and fall in love just like they did in University.

I’ll leave you to discover how things turn out, as I’m not one for spoilers but note that this isn’t the last book in this series! The final installment (… The British Wedding) is to follow later this year so whatever ending our trio stumble across in New York may not be the ending at all!

My Rating 5/5 ~ A bit of a slow start in old Blighty but as soon as Millie arrived in New York, this book came into it’s own. Familiar characters mixed with new faces, along with the romance and humour that Annabel Scott provides so wonderfully, made this a story that both made me laugh and gave me little love butterflies in my tummy. A classic love triangle fiasco, with a few surprises, lots to smile about and a Happy Ending … but for who?! Millie and the American Proposal This is the third book in Millie’s series and this one, by the title, promised a proposal. This was all I needed to know: I wanted to read this book!
We join Millie and James in their beautiful house in London and they paint the picture of a blissful relationship full of love and compromise but very quickly the cracks begin to show and it becomes apparent that there are a few strains on the relationship.
James has just returned from Zurich where he was stationed for work and Millie is exhausted after having to travel backwards and forwards to visit him every weekend. When James casually mentions he will be working in Singapore for the next year, he totally expects Millie to join him. However, Millie doesn’t want to be a kept woman and a lady of leisure in a foreign country. She wants to keep working at her own job and make her own money and even with the insistence of James that she doesn’t need to work and he’ll look after her she is adamant it’s not what she wants. With this in mind, she decides to end the relationship with James.
She is then approached at work and asked if she wants to spend some time in the New York offices and Millie doesn’t have to be asked twice. She flies out and meets up with old friends but soon Rob, her ex, ex is back in her life bringing unwanted feelings to the surface. Can Millie get over James and forget about her feelings for Rob in New York or is the complication of two men just too much to handle?
I enjoyed being back in Millie’s crazy world. She is a really lovable character to follow around and I find her to be a trustworthy and relatable protagonist. In this book she is faced with some really tough decisions and whilst I disagreed with a few ways she handled certain situations, I couldn’t help but feel sympathetic towards her and want to envelope her in a huge hug.
I loved re-joining the old characters from previous books and I really loved spending time with Rob again. He was still completely lovable and attractive and I desperately wanted him for myself! I felt a lot of empathy for James and at times I just wanted to tell him that I loved him so he didn’t feel so abandoned and lonely! I really did feel for him towards the end of the book and I wish he had done something REALLY awful so I had cause to dislike him.
Annabel’s writing is always writing I’ve enjoyed: it’s quick, simple and really addictive which is the best kind! I’m not a huge fan of unnecessary descriptions and plot filling and this one didn’t have any of that, it was straight to the point and very well executed. The emotion is really well described and it is tangible to a point where I can feel the anguish that Millie was feeling at certain points. There was a nice level of humour and some lighter moments which really impressed me too.
This is a really fun, quick read that flows nicely from the previous books in the series and, to top it off, there will be another Millie book out before the end of this year! Hooray!

Millie and the American Proposal Oh I do love the Millie series. I really do end up thinking I'm Millie you know. The way author Annabel Scott/Anna Bell writes Millie transports you into her life. You're completely engrossed and without a doubt the read is smooth and with a fantastic plot. In my opinion, this is the best one so far in the series.

So the last time we saw Millie she had been flashing her arse and handcuffed to a man named James on her best friends hen night in New York. Well it's four years later now and her and James are in luurrve and she suspects he's about to pop the big question. (Don't worry if you've not read the two previous books before this, you are kept up to date with everything making it fine for a stand-alone read too.)

Well I loved it didn't I?
As always Anna is a story tease and without a doubt leaves you wanting more. At the end of this book you want to cry because you know the release of book four is so far away.

Roll on Millie and the British Wedding. I have my hat and fancy frock waiting!
5/5 Millie and the American Proposal Millie is fed up with her relationship. She's been with James for four years and loves him, but his job is causing problems. James has been working in Zurich for months, with Millie visiting when she can at the weekends. The fancy hotels and restaurants were fun to begin with, but spending so much apart is taking its toll. So Millie is relieved when the Zurich project ends and James can return home. Until James drops the bombshell that he's been offered a promotion that will mean having to live in Singapore for a year - and he's already accepted.

Millie can't cope with another separation, especially as she can't hop on a plane for a weekend visit this time, so she ends the relationship. Millie is devastated, but knows she has made the right decision. When she's offered a three month placement at her work's New York office, she jumps at the chance. A new city and the chance to catch up with her American friends, Kristen and Tara, will help her get over James.

But Kristen and Tara aren't the only familiar faces in New York. Her ex-boyfriend and first love, Rob is there too.

Millie and The American Proposal is the third book in the 'Millie' series and I was looking forward to catching up with Millie and her friends. Plus, the fact that the book is set mainly in New York was an added bonus! I really like the character of Millie. She's so down to earth and likeable and I could understand why she ended her relationship with James and could feel her disappointment when he announced he was moving to Singapore. After enduring his time away in Zurich, Millie is looking forward to having him home again. She wants to settle down and get married while James wants to concentrate of furthering his career. James isn't a bad person, but he does seem to put his job before Millie quite a lot.

Millie has some pretty wild friends, who return in this book, but there are some new characters to get to know too. I loved the scenes where Millie goes out with her friends, especially the karaoke bar scene.

Although Millie and The American Proposal is the third instalment, there are no gaps as all the relevant information is contained within the book. I thought Mille and The American Proposal is a fun, romantic book full of humour and great characters. Millie and the American Proposal

Out of the three in the series so far, this is by far my favourite book. AND the best book of 2014! I LOVED every bit!! I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a long time!! It has been two days since I have finished this book, and Millie's world still lingers. Thank you Ms. Scott for creating such lovely characters. Your writing is mesmerising - you can't help but fall in love with the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and was sad to see the last page of the book. BRING ON for book 4!!!
