Here is the first book in an Amazing series by Joy Tyler. Lucas is a great one to start this Fartastic series. The illustrations are fantastic and the story is easy to follow and the little ones will be rooting for Lucas to find his missing three items.
Lucas was a funny looking Leprechaun who farted all the time. He had to go on an adventure to find three items. He could look low, because He was small. How would He look in the tall trees? Does he have a built in ladder? (I'm not telling.). What does his farting have to do with anything. I'm going to read some more, how about you? Childrens, Humor and Comedy, Poetry Getting in the mood for St. Patrick’s Day – the fun way!
Author/Illustrator Joy Tyler has discovered a secret: kids love to giggle about flatulence, and she has created a series of books that use this favorite ’trait’ to learn important life lessons. The Fartastic Series now numbers ten, with helpful farts (and adventures) from ghosts, zoo animals, bunnies, hippos, fathers, turkeys, witches, snowmen, hearts, and now leprechauns!
An aspect of Joy Tyler’s endlessly entertaining books is the manner in which she provides funny stories for kids about flatulence while at the same time focusing on traditional holidays – this time ’round it is St. Patrick’s Day. The beautifully illustrated story opens as we ‘Lucas the Leprechaun as he sets out to find the symbols of St. Patrick’s Day – the magic pot of gold, the four-leaf clover, and the horseshoe – each successful discovery is aided by his trait of farting: the whoosh to reach the pot of gold in a tree, his foul air that chased bees away from the clover patch, and the fart that makes a horse jump to free the horseshoe. Lucas gathers his symbols and joins the other leprechauns to prepare for a new St. Patrick’s Day.
Fun story by an author who obviously understands children, this book is a great way to enhance the celebration of adventure and discover the symbols that signal the arrival of St Patrick’s Day! Recommended.
Childrens, Humor and Comedy, Poetry I received a copy of this ebook in a Goodreads giveaway. Because I sometimes have a couple young kids here, I thought this might be a good addition to my Kindle library for them. I haven't read to any little ones yet. And I am certain, they would rate this much higher once I do. It was cute. And I know little ones often get a kick out of farts. My now not-so-little-adult son would have loved this when he was little. So, while this book was just a quick entertaining diversion for me, for kids, I imagine it would be great fun. And I could certainly see many dads having a lot of fun reading this to their kids and having lots of howling laughter. Which isn't a bad thing. Too funny. I really enjoyed the humor of this one. Great for little kids and old dads. I had fun Childrens, Humor and Comedy, Poetry I really wish I would have read this a week ago for St. Patrick’s day! It was a silly goofy book about a leprechaun who needs to find items for the St Patrick’s day celebration, and it seems his farts help him in all situations.

Lucas the Farting Leprechaun (Fartastic Tales)

Combining holiday fun with simple lessons, this children's picture book is a lucky find on any children's, classroom, or library shelf.
The Fartastic Tales begins with the story of a little leprechaun on an adventure to find three treasures needed to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with his friends. Lucas has something of a trouble with his frequent toots, foofs, and farts, but he turns this to his advantage while problem solving on his adventure instead of lamenting the fact. He is also good at asking for help from the animals he meets along the way when he needs it.
The illustrations were bright and whimsical matching the tone of the little story. The wording was what it needed to be to keep the interest of young minds. The adult reader may need to be prepared, possibly, to explain the connection of the 'lucky' treasure that Lucas must find as holiday traditions if they are reading to a particularly inquisitive child/ren. And, a farting character is just what was needed to top off the humor for a preschooler above and beyond the holiday themed adventure.
A definite recommend for a holiday themed book in a children's library. Childrens, Humor and Comedy, Poetry What a fun book. Joy has very creative ways for using an embarrassing bodily function to get a Leprechaun out of troubling situations. I loved the art work and how it helped weave the story into its hilarity. What a fun way to get reluctant readers to open a book. Childrens, Humor and Comedy, Poetry Great read for Children
