This is a typical example of the For dummies series. The information is simple, easy to understand, not very deep, not terribly technical. It is informative, and it helps get you going if you knowledge about the site is zero or near-zero.
This is a photo of the informative pages of the book I read. As you can see, it was a 2016 edition, so I was expecting something new, something that I didn't know, anything besides the very basic.
The following image is the table of contents. I, of course jumped to the third part hoping to shed some light in the stuff-selling business. I found a few useful tips.
This is the introduction. The author says she can't believe this is her 9th edition. I can't either! Time definitely flies!
In the following excerpt, the author says that this book will be helpful if the reader has an idea of eBay as a money-making site. I found it difficult to find the tips about making a lot of money in eBay in this book.
The following image is a page that contains one tip that I found very useful: how to find a seller in eBay. I have not tried it, but I would love it when I finally can accomplish that elusive task by myself.
And finally, here is a couple of pages with abbreviations commonly used by ebayers.
In conclusion, an informative book for people that are really absolutely ignorant about eBay. Those who don't have a clue.
Well, I hope you liked this little review. Did you know that I also have a blog? Take a look here: http://lunairereadings.blogspot.com English Wanted some quick pointers for selling on eBay - not the book for me - made it seem a complicated and expensive process - so much so that I almost didn't bother. Turns out eBay is so simple (and cheap) that I didn't need this book complicating things at all. English This book is out of date, which I don't blame the book for since I bought it at a used bookstore. But what I don't like about it is having to wade through all the attempts at stupid humor to find useful information. English This author has written a series of For Dummies books about eBay which are intended to be read sequentially as you become more advanced in the topic. This is the very first book, and it is for true beginners. It walks you through extremely basic topics such as setting up an account on eBay, learning how to buy, and starting to sell. That's about where it ends. Unfortunately, this was more elementary than I was looking for, but the writing keeps you engaged so I will likely check out one of the more advanced books she has written. English My favorite chapters are chapter 11 which talks about where to find items to sell on ebay and chapter twelve which talks about closing the deal and shipping. Because for me the two things I worry about if I sold on ebay would be where to find things to sell and then how to pack what I am selling for shipping.
I also learned that there are tools that you can use with ebay. One tool was a website that will bid at the last minute so you don't have to sit in front of you computer and do it yourself. The author calls bidding at the last minute sniping. By last minute I mean as close to the end of the auction as you can get.
There is so much that I learned from reading ebay for dummies. I think if you want to learn how to sell on ebay that ebay for dummies will give you the information you need to get started.

The problem I hit with the Dummie books is that they always seems to fall short of what you really need to know and you only get a general overview. I've been selling on eBay for years, and the only reason I read this latest edition was to see if there were any new tips available. There were not. It's a good jump off point for an absolute beginner. Beyond that, go elsewhere to learn. English Wen you pick up a for dummies book, you know exactly what you're getting - a broad overview of all the basics on a specific topic. And this book delivers just that. Nothing more, nothing less. English Really dated English Makes it easy, easy, easy! English This is a good basic book about buying and selling on e-Bay. The author makes it interesting, and gives many examples throughout the book on what she is describing. This book is a valuable source of information and it is written in such a way as to also be entertaining, not dull.
