Lead-Pipe Cinch (A Georgiana Neverall Mystery #2) By Christy Evans
fun mystery. 042523388X I like to read a series in order, but usually a book just cries out to be read. This book in particular. When Georgies ex shows up in her small town and ends up murdered, guess who's the prime suspect? Well, no one really believes she done it, but it looks mighty suspicious. 042523388X I haven't read the first book in this series, but this second book was easy to read. The heroine made some rather poor decisions but overall a decent cozy mystery. 042523388X The twist at the end was surprisingly effective! 042523388X Well written, engaging, fast paced (If a tad dramatic,) and fun. 042523388X
The second mystery featuring Georgiana Neverall, plumber's apprentice extraordinaire.
Georgiana Neverall never pictured herself knee-deep in a muddy trench building a moat-part of a state-of-the-art castle that would soon house a retired Microsoft engineer.
She also never imagined being a murder suspect, but that's exactly what happens when a floater in the moat turns out to be her ex-boyfriend. Lead-Pipe Cinch (A Georgiana Neverall Mystery #2)
A great cozy with lots of suspense! 042523388X
The sheriff said he hoped they could get some forensic evidence off the pipe. At least he didn’t call it a lead pipe, which earned him points in my book.042523388X There isn't much to the meat and bones of this mystery. It's short by more recent standards (by about fifty to seventy pages). And much of what's left is actually padding in the form of the main character feeling embarrassed by losing her company after going public.
http://pussreboots.com/blog/2023/comm... 042523388X Georginana Neverall had started up a company call Samurai Security which obviously from the name did security. It started out just with her and a man named Blake. She and Blake became more than partners. As they got bigger and needed funds to expand several investors were brought in and off course sat on the board Then she was forced out of her company and Blake dumped her. She moved back to Pine Ridge, Oregon and became an apprentice plumber. Then Blake showed up at the job she was working on.
042523388X Lead Pipe Cinch by Christy Evans is the 2nd book of the Georgiana Neverall cozy mystery series set in a small Oregon town. Georgie lost her high-tech computer security business due to dirty dealings and betrayal. She fled to her small-town roots and took up plumbing. She has been keeping her Silicon Valley days a deep dark secret from her family and friends, but cannot any longer... because her former business partner and lover turns up dead on her construction job. Predictably for a cozy, she becomes the prime suspect, and must use her sharp intelligence to track down the killer. Ahem. Since she was a top security expert, it's not very credible that she didn't see a big betrayal coming - or sense deception in the way she was ousted from her own firm. Her gullible belief in a man from the past nearly does her in. The solution to the murder was partly obvious from midway in the book, but there is a surprise twist at the end. Now Georgie's high-tech secret has been revealed to her small town friends, and she accepts that it gives her pleasure to once again use her computer-whiz talent. It should be interesting to see how she mixes plumbing with computer savvy in following books. Light entertainment, easy reading. 042523388X
