Jeremiah Nebula is not a bullfrog. He is a black boy that loves pink things, and he desperately wants to travel to Mars. His voyage leads him to land on stars that have little Jeremiah confronting all of his fears, and not just the smalls ones, the really, really large ones. Will Jeremiah Nebula conquer his large fears? Will he ever make it to Mars? Blast off with “LARGE FEARS” to see if Jeremiah Nebula’s dreams come true or if they remain a daydream. Large Fears

Jeremiah Nebula, a Black boy who loves pink and flowers, takes an imaginary journey through outer space, visiting his fears before processing them with his mom back on Earth. A sweet, queer, imaginative look at emotions and being yourself.

you're saying this is a story about a black boy who loves pink and wants to go to mars?

huh.

well, i think that's just

no matter what this lady thinks. Large Fears I appreciate that this book seeks to represent a different character than we usually see, especially in picture books. It follows a boy of color who loves pink and wants to visit Mars. This book may resonate most with other children who don't feel they fit into the binary of male and female, as opposed to helping others understand that perspective (better mirror than window, if you know that analogy). The illustrations are beautiful, and also unique. I do think the writing could have been tighter, but it's still an important and valuable book to me. Large Fears A lovely children's book that highlights the need for understanding and acceptance - an acceptance we have as children.
