An amazing visual feast that is in itself a work of art, showing you HOW to draw, compose, or understand such art. 1933492953 Saw this in a shop, which was quite expensive but from flicking through the pages, it was clear that this was a beautifully put together book. The artwork samples are fantastic and although I understand framing from a film making point of view, drawing comics has it's own visual language which this book helps to explore. I brought this off as it was cheaper than a high street store. Highly recommended but ultimately the key thing is to write and draw your own stuff, it's the only way to get better. 1933492953 More about vision and creating than drawing tricks and styles, but it's an excellent read for comics artists and not only. There are some good hints on camera perspectives, importance of light or working the overall vision and details in a scene. The Filmmaker's Eye: Learning (and Breaking) the Rules of Cinematic Composition. 1933492953 I bought this book on a whim I'm an illustrator and was looking to improve my work and I really must say that this is a great addition to my library. I've started to move into digital painting/matte painting/concept design and this book will prove to be invaluable. It has lots of examples of how to compose an image, add tension, convey emotion it really does have loads of great scene examples and each one is deconstructed to help educate you in how it works. It's really well written and beautifully, if minimally, illustrated in monochrome. I don't think I will watch a movie in the same way again as I have picked up so many tips on how shots are composed and these can easily be translated to concept paintings. If you are interested in this field or movie making then I would not hesitate in saying this book is an invaluable addition to your library. Absolutely first class resource. 1933492953
