I love this Universe!! Eden O'Neill is a fantastic author and this book is absolutely brilliant. I love the characters and it tore on my heartstrings in places. And that cliffhanger of an ending!! How you gon do us like that Eden? What a ride! This was not what I was expecting at all! I knew that Dorian would be somewhat like Royal but he’s also in a class of his own!

This was exciting, mysterious, tense and full of drama and I gotta say, it was also darker than the Court High Series and I’m here for it. I enjoyed seeing the court high series characters and their children. I love how all the books Eden has written has connected so far and it’s been an amazing ride.

Very well written characters. I love Sloane and Dorian both are polar opposites yet really compliment each other. The tensions were high right off the bat for them and it just amped up throughout. Their chemistry was undeniable and had the pages sizzling. The other characters were awesome too and I can’t wait to see of them in the up coming books. It’s so weird seeing them so like their parents yet uniquely themselves also.

Once again we are in the world of Maywood Heights and for me it seemed a lot darker. There was a undertone to the book that made it thrilling to read. The unpredictability had me at the edge of my seat and I love the twists. I was shook, excited and in denial that the book was over. Eden really knows how to reel you in with the first word and keep your attention. This was an amazing start to the Legacies Series and I can’t wait for . This story is about Noa Sloane who goes by Sloane and Dorian Prinze. Sloane and her brother have lived a tough life. After the death of their mother, they were constantly moving, changing schools and dealing with their father's mental health. When their father passes, Sloane and her brother are taken in by their guardian Callan, a man they've never met, who happens to be a mysterious billionaire friend of their father. He houses them and gives them luxuries they've never had and enrols them into an elite school. Sloane is proud and headstrong. While thankful for the help, she would rather do things her way, knowing that good things never last. Being the older sibling, she is fiercely protective of her brother and is usually the first to pull a punch to let it be known that she won't cower or back down if anyone tries to mess with her or her brother. On her first day at Windsor Preparatory Academy, Sloane lets this fact be known when some guys give her a hard time. Except, she doesn't realize that she's just messed with the legacies of the school, and now has the attention of their leader Dorian Prinze.
Dorian is dark and mysterious. He's rich and has girls flocking him constantly, but there's something about Sloane that draws to him. She's messed with him and his boys and he finds that he needs to reel her in and remind her of the school's hierarchy. But Sloane isn't one to submit so easily and this is where the games begin.
This story was awesome and I loved the chemistry between Sloane and Dorian. But there is still so much mystery pertaining to this story that I can't wait for the next installment to come. So, once again, like that first book, we find ourselves back at Windsor Preparatory Academy in Mayberry, Heights.
AND, once again we have off spring running the school because they are now Legacy.
Enter, fish out of water brother & sister, Bruno (Bru) & Noa (Sloane)
Poor kids who have recently lost their father (mother died long ago) And due to the generosity of their fathers ‘friend’ elusive Billionaire Callum Montgomery, the two siblings find themselves living in the lap of luxury for the first time.
Arriving at Windsor Prep, and they are already cause problems when Sloane takes Wolf Mallicks parking space.
He’s mad, REALLY mad, but Sloane: as she tells us won’t let bully win.
If they strike, she strikes right back, nobody is going to pick on her & her brother.
This does NOT end well for Sloane.
Not only does her brother resent her charging in, with her guns blazing, attitude.
But, the Legacy Boys recognise her as the girl who “got in the way” when they were trying to kidnap their High School Principal, Mrs Mayberry.
Yeah. This attempted kidnapping is the catalyst for the rest of the story, due to Mrs Mayberry’s involvement with Charlie Lindauist,, the nineteen year old Uncle of Dorian Prinze & brother of December, his mother..
It is also reason for the relentless bullying Sloane endures for half the book at the hands of the boys.
The other underlying plot revolves around the ex members of The Court.
The fathers & Grandfathers who’s shady business, & criminals interests carry’s on through to their grandchildren who are still dealing with fall out of their elders decision making.
This all leads us up to the inevitable cliffhanger that Eden loves to leave us with along with a few new revelations at the end.
This first book in this new series shows interesting plot progressions, however some of the character development is a little disappointing.
Primarily Sloane.
She enters the story,…okay, a little hotheaded, but ballsy, with her independent nature & take no prisoners attitude.
What’s annoying is, the moment she starts to notice Dorien’s glistening golden skin, abs for days, full lips, molten brown eyes, biceps and on it goes.
“ He truly is a beautiful boy/man.”
Then, this feisty girl turns into a puddle of mud, making mistake, after mistake.
She goes from a ‘No F’d to Give’ bada** to a needy B in a blink of an eye.
Also, some plot set ups are so obvious it laughable. Like
The part where Sloane came to Bow’s rescue in the car park,or as I like to call it the ‘ Olive Branch ‘ scene this whole scenario was clearly a set up to ease the tension between Sloane and the Court boys.
What follows afterwards between her and Thatcher was just as corny.
That whole ending up at Jax burgers where conveniently all the other guys are..
Got two groans from me for cheesiness
This was also the part where the boys all start to think Sloane is not such a bad girl after all.
Her Redemption
Also, just a thought! How many times do female lead tripping over as a prop, to having them (literally) falling into their bullies chests…?
These plot ‘go to’s ’ are so obvious, and you can see them coming a mile off.
Take the party for example:
The the minute Sloane got invited I knew that what she decided to do would result in the Dorian and her hooking up.
The whole Lingerie wearing was so cringe.
It was so stupid & she quickly realised, however I think subconsciously she knew exactly what the end result was going to be (or a least the author did when writing it)
Bully romance 101.
So, then after the party, Sloane and the Legacy Boys are now all great pals.
This is at this point in most bully romances that I start to lose interest.
Everything all goes too well.
The story is always far riveting while the everyone’s dodging and weaving each other, trading insults.
Once everyone starts playing nice, it takes the bite out.
Like I said, the character of Sloane was a great when she was the tough nut at the beginning, but it was precisely her ‘push back’ attitude that had the guys liking her, and of course once the hormones kicked in, and she was unable to control her
god damn mind & body, her value depleted in my eyes.
She capitulated to Dorian.
Throw in a family sob story to bond over, & she was putty in his hands. No longer the strong girl from the beginning.
So by this point I’d had enough of the smirking, winking boys.

When in the end this story is really just Royal & December.02
Same relationship, similar plot.
I’ll save you having to read the rest to say, that after some drama,
There is a HEA with possibly a wedding baby epilogue.

The tension between Dorian and Sloan was palpable, you could feel the way they were drawn together even when they didn’t want to be! Don’t get me started on the steam OFF THE CHARTS!
