I've read a few biographies of former Scientologists over the past few years including Marc Headley's and Jenna Miscavage Hill's. All three are just jaw droppingly painful reads and I am in awe of what they went through and have managed to come out of it apparently Kindle Edition, Hardcover The book I give 5 stars, it was a book you couldn't put down. I have no idea how the CoS (Cult of Scientology) is still going because it's not because the command structure have any idea what they are doing. I put it up there with Going Clear. My next buy is Kindle Edition, Hardcover Jefferson Hawkins is, for some reason, the most relatable of all the ex Scientology authors. He is the remarkable brain behind one of the most successful book marketing programs in history, and for that alone is worth the read. Kindle Edition, Hardcover He has told his story in a perfect way for us who have never been in, but still need to understand. I too, hope someday the people still inside, especially Cathy, get a chance to read this. Thank you so much for sharing this. Keep going. Kindle Edition, Hardcover Bit long winded and technical, but that is to be expected as this sounds like it was his style in his career. Interesting insights in to the organization if you can look past the odd writing style. Kindle Edition, Hardcover

Scientology presents a glittering public faade, with smiling celebrities, polished videos, slick TV ads and impressive buildings. It is an image that Jefferson Hawkins helped to craft in his 35 years as a top marketing executive for the Church of Scientology. Yet behind that faade is a hidden world of physical and mental abuse, sleep deprivation, labor camps, family disconnection and human rights abuses. It is a nightmare world that is carefully hidden from public view. Counterfeit Dreams is a must read for anyone who wants to know the truth about todays most controversial cult.
