Unless you already know the history of the beats quit well this book is fairly useless. I think if you already knew the broad brush of history this would fill in the gaps but it makes a bad primer. Incredible insight into a true icon of the 'Beat' generation and a 'muse' for Jack Kerouac, Allan Ginsberg, and many others. So well worth reading! Neal Cassady Neal Cassady fans rejoice! If Neal has captured your imagination (he's certainly captured mine) surely you've been frustrated about how little information there is about him. Yes, he's Dean Moriarty, Cody Pomeray, Neal Cassady I did not love this collection of letters. Some were interesting. Others were boring. It was a bit tedious getting through them all.
