I like it Inglese A great book for middle grade readers that kids will love! I loved the mechanimals, the steampunk theme throughout, and the adventures that await the two protagonists. Madame Verdigris is mysterious because she sells all the mechs to professor silverfish and speaks French she also came out of nowhere and has no family with her. Professor Silverfish is mysterious because he has everybody working for him, he is Lily’s Godfather and a very mysterious man!The people who would enjoy to read this book is people who like mystery, geography, people who like to make things and people who just enjoy big and really good books. (Beware of death and emotional parts).Wonders of Books (age 10)Cogheart is an amazing book by Peter Bunzl I loved all the action! But don’t forget about the adventure and the mystery. The action is spectacular because it’s so realistic and that people had to sacrifice themselves, but be warned, the book does have people dying which includes blood and all sorts of things. Do you want to join the adventure?My favourite part of the story was the bit when Roach and Mould with the other people were chasing Malkin and it is amazing because it has lots of action. What’s your favourite part?My favourite character is Robert because I really enjoys the way Robert the clockmaker got involved in all the action/ mystery and the adventure. But I also liked Malkin as well because he is sometimes funny and sometimes the way he talks but I really like the way he thinks that he is than a fox. So what’s your favourite character?Lily is the daughter of John, and John used to have a partner called Professor Silverfish to help John make things amazing! Like mechanicals, mechanimals and all sorts but one thing which me and that was a heart that can make you live forever. My favourite characters are Malkin and pro silverfish. Malkin with a sense of humour and pro silverfish with lots of story’s from the past. Want to know ? Mouled is fat and they both have mirrored eyes.Malkin was in danger because roach and mould were chasing him. There was an attack involving a fire, this was super exciting! There was another unusual character called madam verdegris. If you want to find out what happens at the end of the book you will have to buy it, it is worth every penny!Ryan F aged 10Best Book Ever Written!If you are a type of person who likes adventure or history you will love this tocking book based all the way back 222 years ago in 1896. The book first starts off with a young girl called Lily aged 13 and her father John Grantham is presumed dead and he is a scientist who can make impossible things that no scientist can even begin to fathom.Malkin is my favourite character because he has a good scene of humour and also can take bullet shots and is really fast and is good for one liners.Also there are very unusual people in the story like Prof Silverfish because peter wants the book to be interesting for people who like adventurous books.Can you imagine being part of this fabulous story? I’ve only just finished reading Cogheart and I personally think it was a fantastic novel but I think this book would mostly be suitable for age 10 and over.The main characters are Lily, Robert, Malkin and John. Lily is a brave and sassy girl she will never give up no matter what and no one can tell her what to do. Robert is a kind and helpful boy who is the clock maker Thaddeus’s son and Robert will try his best to conquer his fears. Malkin is a mechanical fox who has a great sense of humour and he always has something sarcastic to say and he has always got an insult. John is Lily’s father and he builds lots of mechanicals such as Mr Wingnut, Captain Springer and Mrs Tock and he is always there to help.However there are some mysterious characters such as Professor Silverfish, Roach and Mould and Madame Verdigris. Professor Silverfish is Lily’s godfather and he wants the cogheart. Roach and Mould are two mean men who have silver mirrored eyes and side burns and mutton chops and their quite fat. Madame Verdigris is a French woman who was Lily’s guardian for a little while.This story was based in London in Victorian times in 1896 so it was a long, long time ago. The story starts off with Lily in Scrimshaws academy (boarding school for girls) when she finds out about her father’s mysterious airship crash. Malkin is in danger whilst he tries to deliver something to Lily (if you want to know what he was delivering to Lily you will have to read the book) but Robert Townsend and his da (dad) found Malkin and took him back to the workshop. There was an attack at Townsends Horologists where Thaddeus (Robert’s dad) and Robert live.The book makes me really tempted to read on because it leaves you on a cliff hanger. My favourite character is Malkin because of his sense of humour his funny insult’s and his sarcasm. John was terrified to send a letter to Lily so John told Malkin to send a letter to Lily.John Hartman got a airship and the airship name is called Lady Bird. One day only John went on his airship Lady bird then he crashed Lady Bird. There has not been any nobody in or out of the air ship.Malkin the fox is in danger. Malkin saw Roach and smelly Mould. Mould is called Mould because he is very mouldy. They both have a skull cane and silver mirrored eyes. This book is an adventure story and a mystery because a character called Lily Hartman has lost her mother and now her father is missing presumed dead and Lily is in a school called Scrimshaws Academy (a school for girls). Then is a mechanical fox called Malkin and a boy called Robert Townsend that finds Malkin and Roberts father Thaddeus they are horologists Robert is the apprentice.The book was based in 1896 Victorian times in England the author is Peter Bunzel has made me enjoy this book on a cliff hanger. He ends it then starts a new chapter to make you read to find out what happens.We also have some evil character called Roach Mould and Professor Silverfish. They have silver mirror eyes. Professor Silver fish is an inventor.There are some emotional moments people have accidents and there are some deaths and action packed moments so beware of moments like this.We have Anna Quinn that is a reporter and a airship pilot she is a kind and loving person that gets into a airship battle (like Lily’s father called John Hartman) by Roach and Mould the same people that attached JohnMalkin was getting chased by Roach and Mould and then he gets shot but gets fixed by Robert then Robert sets off to Bracken Bridge to find Lily to give her the letter that Malkin had from JohnI recommend people over the age of 10 to read this bookLSParey (10)I loved this book I was astounded by this book I’m trying to read number two.This book is the most interesting book I’ve ever read! Whatever age you are, I would recommend you be careful with this book because it’s got some horrifying deaths in it.Personally, my favourite charter is Robert. He is the most beloved person in this book, he is always there when Lily needs him. Also he sticks up for Lily when her father (John Hartman) went missing. I absolutely loved Malkin the mechanical fox. He is really sarcastic and funny. But Malkin is not like a normal fox, he is very posh because it’s in Victorian times.In some chapters there are unusual characters. Lily Hartmans godfather Professor Silverfish! He has two unusual workers Mr Roach and Mr Mould. Mr Roach has silver mirrored eyes and has a Kane with a skull on top of it. Now the big fatty Mr mould he has fat smelly fingers. Also Professor Silverfish, he worked with John Hartman seven years ago but then John ran away!John Hartman is the father of Lily Hartman. He makes mechanicals, speaking of mechanicals he has his own called Mrs Rust, Mrs Tock, Captain springer and Mr wingnut.I rate this five stars because this book is brilliant.MStevens (11) I was amazed by this book it was amazing how they put it in a thrilling adventure book. It starts off with the main character Lily Hartman in her awful school when she finds out her father is missing and presumed dead. She gets home and wonders how her father went missing and hoping he’s ok and then you meet Robert Townsend (the clockmaker’s son) in the night he was awakened buy a crashing airplane and gun shouts my evil roach and mould.Do you like this story so far? If you do make sure you buy it my favourite part is at the end because it’s surprising and also my favourite character is Robert because he is brave and he conkers his fears.I think the book is for children above ten and adults because there are some sad moments and some characters die in the book. And so far would you like to be in this adventure book?There are some odd characters in this story Lily’s godfather has sent Roach and Mould to capture Lily and tell him where the cogheart is so he can put it in him so he can live. On the way to Lily, Malkin gets in to trouble because men were chasing him.Before he gets to Lily he meets a new character called Robert the apprentice of Thaddeus Townsend and then Lily finds them and something happens you will have to read to find out.I recommend this book for people who likes mysteries because Lily father goes missing and there are some mysterious characters. I would also recommend for people who like history because it is based in Victorian times and include technology with it and if you like you imagine stuff it would be good because there is tone to imagine. (Warning this book can have some sad parts so I recommend you are sensible and I think you should over be 9 or 10.)My favourite character is Lily and Malkin. Plus a Lily Hartman (Grantham) at Mrs. Scrimshaws Academy for Girls.Lily finds her new guardian Madame Verdigris (but is that her name?) she takes Lily back to her home town. Days later she does horrible horrific things to Lily!Then the professor visits lily with heart breaking news saying her papa is presumed dead! FIRE FIRE at Townsend horologist and maybe even our very first death who knows!I would recommend this book to children that don’t get nightmares. I also give this book a total 5 out of 5 stars! The book starts off at Scrimshaws Academy where Lily goes to School and she heard about her father’s disappearance. Also when her father disappears she has a guardian called Madame Verdigris.My favourite character is Malkin because he is very humorous and sarcastic because everyone treats him like an ordinary Fox except from the other mechanicals, Lily and John. I didn’t like Professor Silverfish he sent his men to look for Malkin and then they shot him. I don’t like him because I thought he was a very immature man. I love Malkin because I am an animal lover also because I love foxes. If I could choose a second favourite character it would be Robert because he was very brave because he faced his fear of heights also he saved Lily from dying once. My favourite phrase would have to be ‘clanking cogs is that my Tiger Lil.’ My favourite part of the book was whenOverall this book was amazing! I would recommend it to ages 10 and above.
