I loved this story. More importantly, my little ones loved it. The illustrations are just as beautiful as those in the Nefertiti and Ramses books. Representation is so important when teaching young children of color to love the skin they're in and to be proud of their history. The story also gave a big nod to the #girlpower and #blackgirlmagic movements. I definitely recommend and can't wait to see what @tljohnson has in store for his next book.
