Bought as a gift but I have to admit to borrowing it a couple of times! Wonderful book with some stunning photography. Quirky to have the two halves of the book upside down to each other so you can open on the burlesque side or the fetish side depending on how the mood takes you! I've been looking for these books for the past yers and now having them it's amazing, they're beautiful! Burlesque and the Art of the Teese/Fetish and the Art of the Teese Amazing pictures! I've recently gotten into burlesque after going to my first burlesque show. Everything about it appeals to me from the cheekiness to the music to the clothing (before it's taken off!). Dita is the modern queen of burlesque with some fantastic pictures in a book which just oozes glamour.Dita provides some of her backstory along with tales of burlesque which will inform novices like me and keep them enthralled.It's one monster of a book and worth every penny. (Oh, did i mention how amazing the pictures were enough times?) Burlesque and the Art of the Teese/Fetish and the Art of the Teese I saw this book in a shop went on line and got it far cheaper on here lovely pics good read Burlesque and the Art of the Teese/Fetish and the Art of the Teese 'Burlesque and the Art of the Teese / Fetish and the Art of the Teese' is a stunning look at the history of both Burlesque and Fetish from the point of view of one of the most famous models and Burlesque dancers of today, Dita Von Teese. It has stunning imagery and is well presented, without being lascivious or in poor taste. This book is class all the way. The various sections focusing on the history of both arts are fascinating, with information you would never have considered and you can tell Dita is both knowledgeable and passionate about her art. If you're a fan of Dita or just interested in Burlesque or Fetish then this is an excellent place to go, and though slightly unorthodox, this would make a wonderful coffee table book.Feel free to check out my blog which can be found on my profile page. Burlesque and the Art of the Teese/Fetish and the Art of the Teese For starters, this book really is a bargain price: Dita could easily have priced this at £30 or £40. It's a substantial, heavy hardback, full of quality glossy pages. The book is split into two sections the front is Burlesque and the Art of the Teese, but flip the book over and the book is called Fetish and the Art of the Teese. Each section equates to pretty much half of the book, so there is no preference shown for one or the other. Inside, most of the full page photos are accompanied by a page of text, so it's not just a book of photos, there is also a lot about Dita herself. She reveals her style inspirations, favourite designers, how she styles herself, the history of Burlesque, her favourite dancers, her tips & techniques and some autobiographical detail. All of the photos are very artistic and there is some nudity. If you are interested in fetish, burlesque, erotica, photography, dance or just Dita herself, then I really recommend this book because I don't think you will be disappointed by the sheer scope and depth of this jam packed book.
