Mr. Leonard A. Morrison, author of The Norris Family of America, says the tradition in regard to the origin of Nicholas Norris is that he was of England extraction, being a descendant of one of the English settlers in Ireland, where he was born, and that be'was a stowaway in an immigrant ship and arrived in America when fourteen years of age.
