Gail MacMillan, a veterinarian, will be away at a seminar soon and hopes to perhaps meet Mr. Right so she can think about marriage and a family. Instead, she opens her eyes to hear screaming and feels like she is free-falling in space. Other women are there with her and one seems to be hurt in some sort of explosion or something. And they are hurtling to a purple forested planet! The women are noticing chunks of their hair are missing and there is scar tissue. Some changes were apparently made to them while they were unconscious in space. The little bullet-shaped crafts each woman is in seem to break off and head toward the planet. So far two of them are gone. As Gail’s pod gets down toward the ground, there is a purple man waiting for her! Maybe he knows what is going on.
Pup is following what is in the Holy Scriptures about an Omega Prophecy and believes he is in the right location where one of the Omega Mothers will arrive. He is a Scholar and Protector. When they meet, Gail can understand him through the translator put into her head. Gail’s body is reacting intensely whenever Pup is near her. She has never felt anything like this before. The connection between the two of them was strong and they were good partners for each other. But why was Gail brought here? And what happened to the other women?
Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2) 3.5 Stars
I'm really enjoying this series. The over arcing story line is full of mystery and intrigue. Who has set this all in motion? How do the omegas fit in to the prophesy and what are these emerging abilities about? Oh yeah, it's getting good!
My gripe comes from the fact that we were so immersed in moving the story forward that a lot of the romance/relationship part of it sorta fell to the wayside. I wanted more of Pup and Gail together getting to learn about each other and having intimate moments. Instead they were either apart, incapacitated, or fighting/escaping the enforcers with not much time in the book devoted to them being able to just be and develop feelings. At the end Gail tells Pup that she loves him and I was like, really?!! y'all are still strangers.
I actually really liked Pup. He was a sweet, virgin, religious scholar geek but with an Alpha's instincts and physique. He was so loving and reverential towards Gail. He's also the one that I think is gonna have a big role with Adan in figuring out what the omegas are there to do.
Gail was smart and level headed. She is a veterinarian and loves animals. I felt that her independence and that she had been on her own for so long caused her to be standoffish. I liked her, I just wished it hadn't taken Pup almost dying for her to realize he meant something to her.
This was a good addition to the series, it moved the story along. I just wanted more time with the MCs, to really develop their deeper feelings. I didn't really believe in their connection as much as I wanted to because of that. Hopefully Adan and Monica's story will be better in this area.
Even though this is an ARC, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2) If I’m going to go for an alien, he might as well be purple !
Someone kidnapped and altered six human women by operating on their brains…then they sent them to the planet Alta. This is book 2.
As opposed to the Sunny in book 1, we actually get a bit of background for both Pup and Gail before her pod crash lands on Alta. We also learn a bit more about the other women before Gail’s pod breaks loose from the remaining 4.
Pup is an alpha and religious scholar who has predicted the coming of the Omega Mothers. He has predicted so well, in fact, that he is on site for the landing of Gail’s pod. He helps her from the pod, and they get acquainted as he teaches her info about his planet. Unlike Kaneer, in the first book, he at least believed she is from another planet.
Pup and Gail have quite the adventure through the wilds of Alta and then beneath the ground as well. During her adventures, Gail learns something that Sunny only suspected in the first book.
When the book ends, Pup and Gail are very much in love and mated. Their story will be continuing in the following books, while not playing a major role, as the Omega Mothers have been brought to Alta to save the world. Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2) Could have been a four star.
The main disappointment in this book is the same as before. When the characters point of view shifts it often replays the same scene. So probably a fourth or more of the book is just reading the same thing again. It not only doesn't add anything to the book but it also takes away from the flow of the story.
I do like how Pup is a very different character from the first Alpha as often Alpha omega series can have Alphas all be very generic.
Also I didn't take any stars away for this but it definitely dropped my ability to enjoy the book right from the start. Gail claims to be a vet but is feeling the postion of a CALF in a HORSE. Horses have foals not calves. It made it very hard to see Gail as a smart woman and impossible to see her as a vet. Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2) ...I wish I had the time for field research.
Gail is a veterinarian who probably likes her patients more than their owners, in part because they are owners.
When she crashes into Pup's world she discovers a place where things seem to be in a downward spiral. In the previous story Sunny, A seismologist, realized her skill set might be in need, and this story develops to show a vet understands all kinds of living beings.
I'm really enjoying this series about a world that thinks they understand their current state of affairs, but also realizes that decisions may have been made by those in power for... interesting, and less than clear cut reasons.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited story stands well on its own, though I suspect by the time I get to the end of the series I'll be glad I've read all the stories as I feel like each human I meet is bringing pieces / knowledge to the puzzle. Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2)
Gail:
Aliens abducted me from Earth, operated on my head, and then dumped me and five other women into a spacecraft hurtling toward a purple planet!
I woke up to screaming because one of the women appears hurt. Either from the spacecraft malfunctioning or we were shot! It’s hard to say for sure, but then my tiny craft shoots off on its own.
When I land, I’m greeted by a humanoid alien who’s convinced I fulfill a Prophesy in his religion. Of course, I’m thankful I can understand him but extremely uncomfortable with the strange way my body responds to him. Based on my veterinarian background, the natives are more animalistic than I’m comfortable being attracted to. Could my reactions have something to do with the surgical scar on the back of my skull?
According to the alien that’s hiding me away, he can prove the Prophesy with his Holy Scriptures and help me find the other Earth women. I want to trust him, but I’m not sure I can trust myself to resist the magnetic attraction that burns between us…
PLEASE NOTE: This Sci-Fi Alien M/F Omegaverse Romance Series features an ABO culture complete with Omega fated mates, heats, and knotting with a dominant, possessive Alpha. It contains Adult Language and Steamy Adult Bedroom Scenes. It is intended for 18+ Readers & Adults Only.
It's part of a science fiction romance series but can be read as a standalone story with its own HEA. Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2)
In this second book of the series you get to see more of the background of this world and why the 6 women are here. I like the fact that the different stories of the 6 women become intertwined and there's a bigger story that binds the series together instead of each book just being about one couple and in the next book you don't hear from them again. Pup, probably because he's a scholar, is not as alpha as I'm used to but the attraction between him and Gail is very mutch there ! Gail is sometimes funny, analysing the differences between her and Pup and seeing similarities between Pup and the animals on earth. You get to see a bit about the low dwellers as wel. I hope I can read the next book soon, it's addictive ! Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2) Yeah, so damn, I think only Pearl Tate can write a big HEA and cliffhanger or better ‘Mind-hanger’ in the same sentence! Now I really want to know!
It’s difficult to write a review without telling anything and spoil the pleasure of discovering for others with this wonderful imagination of a new world. So I will not write about the story line. The characters in this installment are really great! Pup is so cute and nice! I would definitely love him too... and Gail has not only the ability to do good, but also is doing it.I liked them both a lot! And now we wait for Adan and Monika to tell their story...
I received a free copy of this book from the author via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2) I am not usually a fan of this type of book. I am a huge fan of Pearl Tate though. I loved this book it is a lot different then most of Alpha Omega books. It is more of a love story where some of them seem to be more drawn against their will. It seems they are learning about each other together and actually care for each other to begin with. Her biology has been altered but neither of them know to what extent or who has done it. I am looking to finding out more in books to come. I will be following this series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2) Awesome Series!! I absolutely loved reading Alpha Prophecy. The plot line was mesmerizing and filled with both intrigue and danger. The building mystery as to why things are as they are on the strange purple alien planet will keep you anxiously awaiting the upcoming books as more and more is revealed. For readers who are not familiar with Pearl Tate’s books, you’re in for an exciting time while reading each of her books. I received a free review copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Alpha Prophesy (Omega Mates #2) Honestly, I love the idea of Omegaverse, but struggle with the... harshness often a part of the genre. I was a bit nervous about this ABO story, but I like the author so gave it a try. I’m very glad I did. This is book two and I agree with the author -it can be read as a stand-alone. I misses book 1, and will be going back and correcting this over site.
The characters, world and chemistry were on point for me, but I feel the overall mystery just might be what keeps me coming back. The hows and whys are sticking with me and I’m really looking forward to reading more! Very well done!
