The Baudelaire midgetsoops orphans Violet Klaus and Sunny Get to move in with their Uncle Monty Here they get to use their skills with reading inventing and biting We learn about books and words We also learn a little about haystack statisticsMean while back at the ranch shortly after the appearance of Stephano and we all know who he really is Uncle Monty apparently gets nipped by the Mumba du Mal It is obvious to all but the midgets that the Mumba du Mal opens his cage with the help of other snakes and after doing the deadly deed locked his self back upNaturally the orphans must prove who count Olaf is and get surprised by his assistant This sets up the pattern for the next book in the series Where once again access to a library may save their lives A Series of Unfortunate Events #2: The Reptile Room I chose this rating because I liked the way it had slight humour but Snicket kept onto the fact that pretty much the whole content of the story was misery I also liked the way everything flowed nicely and everything made sense A Series of Unfortunate Events #2: The Reptile Room A Series of Unfortunate Events is my favourite series on Netflix so a few months ago I decided I was finally going to buy the books and read the whole series and I don't regret that decisionThe Reptile Room is the second book in the series and is much better than the Netflix seriesThe book opens with Violet Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire on their way to live with their uncle Dr Montgomery Montgomery a semi successful herpetologist with a large collection of reptilesDr Montgomery's assistant Gustav left him without any notice just before the Baudelaire orphans arrive and his replacement Stephano is strangely like Count OlafThe thing I love about The Reptile Room is the dark humour running throughout it There are constant jokes that are definitely not aimed towards children which make it such a fun book to readIt's funny sad and entertaining all at the same time and I really do wish I'd have read it when I was younger because it's just the ideal book for me A Series of Unfortunate Events #2: The Reptile Room This book series caught my attention because of the Netflix series with Neil Patrick Harris And as I usually like reading the original books before watching a movie series I gave this one a tryIt is uite entertaining and very easy and fast to read I really enjoy the lecture especially after a long and stressful working day so far I have read books 1 6 This book series is just something you can switch your head off and can read it through without the need to concentrate too much The way Lemony Snicket writes is very easy to follow and just makes you keep reading even though the events in the book are predictableAlso the illustrations by beginning of every chapter in the Kindle version are a welcome changeThe only thing I do not like is the patronising way to explain 'difficult' words of course those stories were written for children but even then I don't think that that much explanation is actually needed A Series of Unfortunate Events #2: The Reptile Room Read elsewhere Ha not that the book was bad just in this case meaning my review skills aren't great It still werids me out reading these because the film crams it into one and I still picture Jude law reading this time I see billy connely as Monty aswell haha so far enjoying the series If its the same for all 13 books mind you they might get abit samey A Series of Unfortunate Events #2: The Reptile Room
