A Hiss Before Dying: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery By Rita Mae Brown
A Hiss Before Dying: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery There are 2 whodunnits working in tandem in this novel, one contemporary, the other in the same place, but in the 1780s, just after the War of Independence. As ever. Tucker, Mrs Murphy and Pewter solve the cases first, but their human is unacountably deaf to their remarks! Highly recommended for the animal illustrations, the plot line(s) and the background history. A Hiss Before Dying: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery These Mrs. Murphy stories are getting a bit tedious. There are extended passages almost a serialized textbook on the geography and history of Virginia, padding a very slight story out to book length. This material may be interesting in its own right but it's only marginally relevant to the plot. As for the mystery, we either don't care very much who dunnit by the 80% mark, or spend half the book wishing the characters would just figure it out! And the why of the whodunnit is often a stretch. The franchise is a very good one, but needs freshening up. A Hiss Before Dying: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery Very interesting, I really enjoyed the historic parts interspersed with the current time and how the past affects the present. Thanks Rita, I am now invested I. Both timelines A Hiss Before Dying: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery Love these books you get two novels for the price of one! A Hiss Before Dying: A Mrs. Murphy Mystery
