I am a retired attorney and now a substitute teacher and saw this book in a teacher's classroom and then ordered it. It is a great resource for understanding and communicating with not only students in the classroom but also adults, in my opinion, when crossing Framework for Understanding Poverty: A Cognitive Approach My spouse is a teacher and does not always have time to read so many times I filter material and pass along what might be useful or of interest. I also had a mother who was an MSW so I have an existing framework of understanding poverty having read some of her assigned Framework for Understanding Poverty: A Cognitive Approach I work in a school system that absolutely is described in this book. Over the years, the book has really helped me to understand my students and to deal better with those in the community. This is a substantial theoretical read from Dr. Payne. Although it lacks stats and other substantive, supportive data, it is worth your time if you were interested in understanding poverty and were to teach students who are focused on the lower levels of Maslow's Framework for Understanding Poverty: A Cognitive Approach A friend loaned me Bridges Out of Poverty, a book written by a collaboration of authors, including Dr. Payne.
