Flying Saucer’s Spring BeerFeast will feature over 25 breweries and 60 craft beers, all carefully selected by Flying Saucer’s resident beer gurus, Keith Schlabs, Sam Wynne and general manager, Daniel Parks. In addition, very rare and limited-release beers will be tapped for fest goers to sample at staggered times throughout the day via announcements made at the festival and the Saucer’s Twitter account, @FlyingSaucerLak, the day of the festival. A few of the exciting beers that will be tapped include: One-year old Saison-Brett from Boulevard Brewing Co., Lagunitas Brewing Sucks Holiday Ale, Real Ale Brewing’s Kraken (French Oak Aged Sisyphus), Rahr & Sons Bourbon Barrel Aged Winter Warmer and Maui Brewing’s Onion Mild.
As a slight change from the previous year’s festivals, this year’s BeerFeast will be a 21 and up only event and all guests must purchase a ticket to attend the festival. Also, the Saucer has arranged for popular local food trucks such as The Bomb Fried Pies, EasySlider and Nammi to sell food to festival attendees.
Tickets are $25 if purchased by May 24; then increases to $30 from May 25 to June 15; and $40 at the door on the day of the event. Ticket purchase includes a tasting card that is good for choice of 12 samples of any of the 60 festival beers, as well as a commemorative Spring BeerFeast tasting glass. There will also be designated driver tickets available for $15, which will include admission to the festival and complimentary soft drinks.
In addition to general admission tickets, this year a very limited number of VIP tickets will be available for purchase. They are expected to sell out quickly and will only be available for sale online prior to the festival for $65. In addition to the tasting card and glass, VIP ticket purchasers will receive early admission to the festival at 1pm, a special VIP seating area featuring a BeerFeast food buffet, a 2012 Spring BeerFeast T-shirt and a Brew Caddy lanyard to hold their taster glass. Additionally, all VIP ticket holders will be given the rare brew tapping schedule in advance allowing them to get in line before the rare brew selection is announced to general ticket holders.
Additionally all those that have purchased either general admission or VIP tickets will have the option of purchasing additional 12 sample taster cards for just $6, which will be available for sale the day of the festival only.
