This week Namaste Brewing has officially changed their name to Kamala Brewing. In September, the Delaware based Dogfish Head Brewing sent a cease and desist letter to the Austin brewpub requesting that the Whip In drop the Namaste name. It seems Dogfish was worried their limited release Namaste witbier would be confused with the Austin brewery. While Namaste Brewing is under a new name, they are still pushing out their great beers and no one can take away the fact that in their first year as a brewery they brought home gold at the 2013 Great American Beer Festival.
Also this week, both the North Texas Beer Week and the Houston Beer Week are coming to a close. Fear not, there are still plenty of great events to check out. After big success in both Dallas and Fort Worth, the Paste Untapped Indie Music and Beer Fest will be closing out the Houston Beer Week on Saturday November 16th. With a very impress list of over 200 craft beers and some great up and coming bands, the Paste Untapped Indie Music and Beer Fest is going to end the week with a bang. We will be out filming at the festival so come say hi!
If you’re looking to just get out this weekend and visit a local brewery, don’t forget that we have a list of all of the breweries near you so head over to the Breweries and Brewpubs page and go support your local brewery.
